Luke, Calum, Ashton and Michael.
Their names and faces have been revolving around me for awhile now. It's bad because we're at a pizzeria and I'm not allowed to zone out whenever I want.
"So!" Ashton says, grinning. "I heard that you didn't even know Luke was sitting next to you till he asked you for help!" I looked at my root beer float and watched the vanilla ice cream float aimlessly in the drink. I wish I could be like the ice cream, with no care in the world.
"Hello? Earth to Trinity!" Michael laughed, waving his hand in front of my face. My head shot up, startled by the sudden movement.
"You were zoning out," Luke says, smiling. I shrug, reaching for a slice of pizza.
Ashton laughs as he takes a sip of his drink. "How are you, Trinity?"
"Water, Air and Earth," I mumbled. Luke chuckles. "You figured out their elements so quickly?"
I nod, looking at the four boys. "Michael is Air and Earth," I started. "Calum is Water and Earth and Ashton is Air and Earth. It's nice, isn't it? To have everyone share the same elements, right?"
They stare, and they are silent.
Great job, Trinity! You have successfully convinced them that you're a weirdo! Even Luke.
"Like Avatar?" Calum asks, leaning forward. "Does that mean we can all earthbend?"
"That's what I thought too! Avatar!" Michael chimes in, high-fiving Calum.
"She doesn't know about Avatar, guys," Luke laughs and I feel the heat rising up my cheeks.
"You don't know what Avatar is?!" Ashton yells, his eyes wide.
Calum shot a glare at him and hisses, "Shut up, Ashton! Don't be so loud!" Ashton ignores him and stands up, crossing his arms. "We are going to show Trinity what Avatar is. Take out, my place, car, now." He grabs my arm and pulls me out of my seat. I throw a confused look at Luke and he winks at me, mouthing, "Don't worry."
Well, I worry. I worry a lot. Too much.

"Let Avatar:The Last Airbender marathon begin!" Ashton announces and squeezes himself between Michael and I.
We were now seated on his floor, with his laptop on the table, surrounded by pizza and drinks and napkins. The intro starts and Ashton squeals.
Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. Long ago, the four nations lived in harmony... till the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he disappeared. A hundred years passed, my brother and I found the new Avatar, an airbender named Ang. Although his airbending skills were great, he still has a lot to learn before he can save anyone yet. But I believe that Ang can save the world.
"God, seriously? This is what you guys are hyped about?" I groan, smacking my forehead. "They make it seem as if it's only Fire that's bad! Earth is pain, too."
"Oh c'mon, don't you think it's great?" Michael whines. I roll my eyes and stand up.
"Gonna get a drink and then I'm off," I say. "I definitely have better things to do at home."
They groan and I disappear into the kitchen. I took a glass and filled it with water. Water. Something I'll never obtain. Mentally, that is. Unlike them.
I stare at the glass for a long time, the water swirling in it. I wanted to be reincarnation. Or at least have a piece of it in me. I don't want to be destruction. I want to be the Balance. Or better yet, the Avatar. It's sad, because I'm selfish. I want everything to be about me and I love it. I crave it. That's one symptom of destruction. The crave for attention. Yeah. That's why I'm so into these things. Totally. I don't know.
"Trinity?" I turned around, jumping a little. Luke was standing there, leaning against the doorframe. "Is there something bothering you?" he asks, walking towards me.
Yeah. I actually have Gwen's number but I refuse to give it to you.
I shake my head and return to staring at the glass of water. Wondering what it would be like to flow without any pauses, to be flawless.
"Trinity..." Luke trails off, his breath now on my cheek. Licorice. That's what his breath smells like. I suppress my smile and whisper, "The boys are watching us right now."
It was true. I felt their presence. I knew they were watching. Earth instincts.
Luke stepped back, blinking a few times before smiling. "Didn't know you had sixth sense." I smile back. "Well, once you've grown used to being alone, you can feel others. Except when I zone out, of course."
"You're intriguing, Trinity," he says and he leans in to give me a kiss on the forehead.
I'm intriguing? You won't feel that way when you find out what I'm hiding from you.
And I'm sorry.
maybe not that sorry.
