I wake up feeling calm and relaxed, something I never really feel when waking up.
I then realize why.
Luke is still wrapped around me, his features completely relaxed, like a little boy. His hair is tousled and I smile, reaching up a little to brush it back. He sighs, burying his head closer to my neck.
He murmurs something inaudible before holding me closer to his body.
Can't say I'm not enjoying this.
Shut up, Trin.
There's suddenly a knock on my door and Tristan steps in.
"Hey, sis, mum and dad left five minutes ago for their trip and- whoa," Tristan trails off when he sees Luke and I. "Trinity? Why is he in bed with you and when did he get here?"
"Um... Last night?" I say, in a form of a question.
He smacks his forehead and groans. "You are so lucky mum and dad left for their trip."
I laugh, and Luke stirs in his sleep. He yawns and opens his eyes slowly.
"Looks like Prince Charming is awake," Tristan attempts to make a witty comment. I shoot him a glare before looking at Luke, slowly sitting up and shaking his head.
"Ugh, where am I?" he asks groggily.
"Trinity's bedroom," Tristan replies before I could.
"Oh yeah..." Luke trails off before he widens his eyes. "Oh shit! Look this isn't what it looks like, I swear. I should get going. I need to get going. Um-"
"Dude, calm down," Tristan chuckles. "Have some breakfast before you leave. I'm sure Trinity will love your company." I roll my eyes and got off the bed.
"How mature," I say, pushing past him. I hear Luke and Tristan laughing as I head down the stairs.
Boys.
Then again, it's probably me who's paranoid.
-
"Don't you have to head back home?" I ask, seeing as Luke is sitting comfortably in the armchair after breakfast.
"Texted my mum that I went to hang out with a friend," he shrugs, twiddling his thumbs.
I sigh, hugging my knees. "You don't have to stay."
"I want to."
I feel the need to kiss him again. I just do. So when he places his lips against mine, I don't hesitate to kiss back.
It's funny, just last week we were avoiding each other but now we're kissing. They say that separation makes a bond tighter. Maybe it's true. Maybe it's our elements.
Luke pulls away and stares into my eyes. He smiles at me, his hand still on my cheek. I don't smile back. Instead I'm mesmerized by how perfect someone can be with all four elements and maybe be filled.
"You could be a number," I whisper, never averting my gaze on him. "You could be empty yet infinitely filled."
"Is that what you're also into?" he chuckles, his knuckles now grazing my cheek.
"My mum is," I tell him. "She wanted to name Tristan Zero and me Infinity."
He laughs. "Infinity Fallon. Still sounds good to me."
"It'd be a stupid name," I reply, looking down.
"Trinity, don't look down and hide those pretty eyes of yours," Luke says as he lifts up my chin. "They're of a beautiful color. Blue-green though leaning towards-"
"Turquoise," I cut him off. "There's a name for that color, Luke."
"So, Trinity," Luke says, smiling. "How about being my girlfriend?"
"Like a replacement?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
He frowns, scrunching up his nose. "No way! I would never do that."
He smiles at me, and this time, I smile back.
"You're infinite," I mumble, resting my head on his chest.
He wraps his arms around me and murmurs, "Oh yeah?"
I nod.
He is definitely infinite.
