The sky is blue. It's really blue. So blue that you can't use color pencils to color it.
Sunsets are nice. They are really lovely. The brilliant yellow and gold mixed in with specks of red as the background. If it looks like it is setting into the water, that's nice too.
Clouds are white. Like, really white with a tinge of grey and blue. You can't draw them, you can't paint them. You can only imagine them, but you can't put them on a piece of paper or canvas.
Clouds are special. They never fade away, they just move on, waiting for you at another place. They remain as pretty as ever.
No. Not pretty.
Beautiful.
I want to be a cloud, but how can destruction ever be something that emits tranquility?
-
I lay on the grass in my garden, just staring at the clouds floating around aimlessly. I smile to myself as I find my eyes starting to droop.
"Trinity."
I sit up and look behind to see Tristan standing there, arms folded across his chest.
"I can't believe you ditched today," he says, walking towards me.
Yep. I ditched school. I took the same bus, but went past my stop. I had gone to eat ice cream and then come back to have a lie down to watch the clouds.
"What do you want, Tristan?" I mumble, gazing at the long strands of grass.
"Tell me why you ditched," he persists, his shoulder touching mine. I don't respond. Instead, I lean against him and sigh dejectedly.
He slings his arm around me and pulls me closer. "C'mon, Trin. Tell me what's bothering you."
"Luke Hemmings," I say, breathing in Tristan's scent of his usual cologne and daisies.
"You mean that punk looking guy with the lip ring?" he asks, frowning slightly. "Jesus, at times like this I feel like I'm older than you."
"He's not a punk," I mutter, snuggling closer to him. "He's a nice person. He's Water, Fire and Earth. Three elements, Tristan. He looks as if he's the Ultimate balance."
"You and your elements," he teased, ruffling my hair.
I laugh, "Don't mess up my hair, Tris. It's not cool."
Tristan raises his eyebrows. "Whatever you say, girl of destruction. Just don't destroy me."
"You're reincarnation, stupid," I tell him. "You'll just pick yourself back up without any hesitation and pretend everything's fine."
"Can't believe mum wanted to call us Zero and Infinity. Zero Fallon. What kind of name is that?" he says, scrunching up his nose.
"Thank God she named us nice names," I muttered, closing my eyes, letting his warmth take over me.
It's nice, leaning against Tristan like that. It's brother-sister love, and it's lovely.
"Hey, uh Tri- oh..." I turn around, to see Luke standing at the doorway. "Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. I'll just leave the two of you to... your things..."
Luke doesn't know I have a brother. Better question.
"How the fuck did you even get in anyway?" I laugh.
"Front door was half opened," he replies, shrugging.
Tristan looked down sheepishly. "Oops."
"You're such a dick!" I say, slapping him on the shoulder. "I can't believe you forgot to close the door!" I look at Luke. "C'mon, you want something eat?"
Luke shakes his head. "No, it's fine. I don't want to intrude..."
"We're siblings," Tristan and I say in unison. Luke stares at us for a moment and then proceeds to say, "It's okay. I should get going. What I wanted to say wasn't important anyway."
With that, he walks away.
