(Kára's POV):
"Thanks for your help out there, Reindeer Games. I must admit, when you snapped I wasn't entirely sure that you were going to snap his army away. But you seem to have developed at least a semblance of a conscience," Tony spoke, shaking hands with Loki.As a response, Loki rolled his eyes, "don't make me regret what I did, I can kill you just as easily without the gauntlet."
"Sure, buddy, but as I remember it we whooped your ass, and that was back when there were only six of us. I wouldn't recommend trying to defeat all of us."
"If I truly wanted to take over your measly little planet eleven years ago, I would have succeeded. Lucky for you, Thanos's mind control apparently makes me lack conviction. Now, as much as I love being praised as a hero, I really must return home and see my family," Loki spoke, wrapping his arm around me and teleporting is back to our family home.
Narfi and Eerika were calling out for us in desperation, tears streaming down their face. Their eyes lit up when they saw us and they ran to hug us. Loki lifted both of the children up in his arms and they clung to his chest, tears spilling over onto his cheeks as well as he reassured them that we were here for them.
"We were so scared, everything went black and then mommy and Eira were gone and we didn't know what happened," Narfi explained, although his words were quite muffled by his sobs and Loki's chest.
"I am so sorry, Narfi, we should have been here when you woke up, but we're here now and I promise that we're never going to leave you again," I assured the children, wrapping my arms around them and Loki.
"Where's Eira?" Eerika asked, looking over at me.
I smiled at her, "don't worry, she's with your aunt. Would you like to go see her?" Eerika nodded and I continued, "but before we go, I have to tell you that you have been asleep for five years, so she's going to look a lot older, ok?"
With that I teleported us to New Asgard, where we were met with crowds of reuniting families. I led us through the crowds to our house, keeping my hand on Loki's shoulder. There were voices coming from the room in the back of the house so I led them in there, finding Saga with both children as well as Aasveig. I immediately ran up to give her a hug, relieved that she was alright.
"Mommy, who are these people?" Narfi asked, clinging onto his father.
"Well these are your aunts Saga and Aasveig," I started introducing them. "And this is your cousin, Bjorn. And of course your sister, Eira."
"Eira?" Eerika questioned her eyes widening.
Eira beamed as she ran to hug her father. Loki, too, looked shocked as he placed our other children on the ground and hugged Eira, "you have grown so much, Eira."
"Did mother bring you back?" Eira asked, looking up at him with wide eyes.
Loki's gaze shifted to me as he replied, "yes she did. She helped bring everyone back."
As our children talked amongst themselves, Loki walked over to my family and offered his hand, "we've never actually had the chance to meet, but I am Loki."
"Of course we've never had the chance to meet, you are supposed to be dead," Aasveig replied coldly as Saga accepted the handshake.
Loki grinned, "well appearances can be deceiving."
"I was wondering why Kára chose to abandon us after our great heart to heart in the woods. In all of her visits she never mentioned that you two were reunited, nor that she had two more children after Narfi."
"Aasveig, I apologize for not telling you, but I can assure you that I never meant to hide things from you. It was just that Loki's safety and the safety of our children depended on it. If Thanos knew-" I began to explain, hoping to decrease the tension.
Suddenly Aasveig broke out into a smile, "do not fear, Kára, I merely jest. I have known that Loki was alive, he came to save us on Asgard. After discovering he lived, it did not take long for me to realize why you left us and went to Midgard of all places. I only wanted to see his reaction."
"Are you going to tell us what happened after you brought everyone back? It took you quite a long time to return to us and you look as though you have been through Hel," Saga questioned glancing over my body.
"We messed with time and it messed back," I replied simply, recalling what Tony had said at the compound. "Thanos managed to time travel back with us and blew up the compound we were in. Once I managed to get out of the wreckage of the building, I walked out onto a battlefield. A battle that we one thanks to the idiotic actions of my husband."
"My apologies for being the savior," Loki replied, making me wonder if it was possible for any more sarcasm to drip from his voice. "Besides, I am clearly fine so you have no need to worry."
"Loki, you nearly died!" I cried out in disbelief, feeling rather angry at him. I honestly did not know what I would do if, after all of that, my children were still left without a father.
"But I didn't, thanks to you," he replied, cupping my face and brushing his thumb over my cheek.
...
Loki and I were walking through New Asgard as I gave him a tour of the small town that we had built up. Everyone was much livelier tonight that I had ever seen them, celebrating the return of those who had disappeared. We even had fireworks bursting over the ocean, with a crowd surrounding on the cliffs.
"It has never looked so beautiful here," I sighed, enjoying the colorful lights that painted the sky.
"How is that possible when you have been here all along?" Loki replied, wrapping his arm around my waist.
I laughed, "you really need to stop with those cheesy lines."
He tilted his head in confusion, "cheesy? I thought you loved when I wooed you."
"That line certainly did not affect me at all, perhaps you should try again," I replied, placing my arms around his neck.
"Oh, I don't think I need to," he smirked as he closed the distance between our lips. When he finally pulled away from the kiss, he remained gazing into my eyes, "even after all of this time, you are still truly the brightest star I have ever seen."
