Heaven In Devil's Arms

▪ VI: Stay

Days passed and I still don't know how can I return to heaven. I have learned to live with devil. Ako na din ang unang gumigising para magluto at ang lakas niyang kumain! What a glutton!

"Angel." He called while I am sweeping on the floor.

I look at him and cocked my brows and asked, "Why?"

Nakasuot siya ng naka-baston na itim na slacks at itim na long sleeve poloat tinutupi niya iyon hanggang siko. Naka black shoes siya, his whole attire is black. His hair is fixed and he really look devilishly awesome and handsome! If I'm not an angel I could have used the word people uses when they are overwhelmed to someone, what is that? Duck?

"Ayos lang ba itsura ko?" He asked.

I don't want to tell him how handsome he is, I guess he will piss me off until I got pissed. I can keep secrets, but I can't lie. If I will answer him 'secret', he will just conclude that he's handsome today.

Afterall, devil is a good guy to me. So far, he's not doing something bad that might hurt me. Maybe, I can consider it as a reward to him if he will hear the truth about his look for today. I gently smile at him.

"You look ducking handsome today devil." I smiled and maybe a little cuss to express how devilishly handsome he is today can be considerable. A little gray-feather won't make me unwelcome at heaven afterall.

He flashed a playful grin, what now? Ugh. Should I regret it giving him a little reward for being a good devil?

"Ducking, huh?" He asked.

Agad namuo ang inis sa ulo ko. Ugh! This devil will always be unbelievable!

"Won't you just appreciate it when I cuss just to praise how you look good?" I rolled my eyes.

He burst out laughing. Ito na nga ba ang sinasabi ko na aasarin niya lang ako. Umakbay siya sa akin habang tumatawa. Sinamaan ko siya ng tingin kaya napakagat siya sa labi niya at pinilit na magpigil ng tawa kaya namula siya.

I'm pissed!

"You didn't even cuss angel." He said as he tried to suppress his laughters.

"Thought the devil knew about how people express their amusement towards someone, they cuss and say duck or ducking, you ducking ash whole!" I shrieked.

Now I want to drink a lot of Holy Water from the Lake of Life in heaven! I cussed a lot because of this devil, now he just accomplished one of his work by making me commit sins! I wonder how many of my feathers turned to gray, ugh.

"Ducking ash whole! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Now he failed to suppress his laughter and laughed harder.

Sa dami ng tawa niya ay hindi ko na nabilang pa iyon. I want to drown him in the Lake of Life and I'm sure he'll burn immediately because of the Holy Water!

"What now devil?!" I glared at him. He tried to stop but he failed again! I'm pissed, that's it!

Inalis ko ang pagkakaakbay niya at padabog na umalis. Agad niya akong hinabol at mahigpit na hinigit palapit sa kanya. I can't get off of his arms in my waist. I am able to look closely in his face, he's face is red because of too much laughter. But I think my face is more red than his face right now. Here are we again in a close distance like this, and I really feel unease!

For the first time I felt my heartbeat, it beat so fast that I got lost counting every ups and downs.

Idinikit niya ang noo niya sa noo ko kaya naman napayuko siya. Lalo kong naramdaman ang pamumula, nakapikit siya. His face is so close with mine. Naiilang akong napatitig sa kanya. My eyes wandered all over his face trying to find where I can stare comfortably and I just found myself staring at his gorgeous reddish lips!

Devils aren't supposed to be as irresistible as this!

"It's not ducking angel. It's fucking." He said. I can smell his peppermint-smelling breath. "It's not ash whole, it's asshole." He added.

I cleared my throat. It is not my fault that I don't know about those things! "I just want to express how you really look good today in your outfit plus to also answer your question." I countered and I want to hug myself for not stuttering.

He opened his eyes and I felt the panic! At the disco, I mean, in my heart. Where does the "at the disco" came from? My whole human form system is in a total mess and I couldn't think straight.

"Fuck, I want to kiss you in your damn irresistible lips angel. But I just can't, I have to return you to where you're really supposed to be without making you sin too much." He said out of nowhere. I couldn't complain when he talked about the 'kiss on lips' thing.

"I can't return yet." I answered. Bali pa din ang pakpak ko, I wonder if this will even heal. "But I'm not saying you can kiss me in lips!" Agad kong deny at pinilit iiwas ang tingin, pero magkalapit nga lang pala ang mukha namin!

"Ah-uh angel. I didn't say that you said I can kiss you in your lips." He grinned. "But if you want that, I can give it to you right away." He added.

I gently slap his back. "I think you're going somewhere, maybe you should go." Pag-iiwas ko sa usapan.

Naalala ko bigla na nagwawalis nga pala ako at hindi ko na din namalayang nabitawan ko na pala ang walis nang magdabog ako kanina. He kissed me in my forehead which I couldn't really complain, grateful creatures can put a kiss in our forehead to express  'thank you' in their utmost gratitude. Medyo inilayo niya ang mukha sa akin, pero nasa bewang ko pa din ang kamay niya.

"Devil jobs, angel." I heard a hint of sadness in his voice. Devil jobs again. "But if you'll ask me to stay, I will stay. That is just a duty and I think you're important more than anything." He said and I felt the hope in his suggestion that I will make him stay.

He said I can, I don't think it will be selfish.

"S-stay Elijah.."
