Heaven In Devil's Arms

Tanghali na nang magising ako. When I open my eyes I saw devil staring intently at me.

"You're beautiful." He mumbled as if he's out of his mind. "You've always been the Creator's masterpiece, you are worth more than gazillion stars. You've always been the grace of my life." He added.

Napataas naman ako ng kilay sa kanya. Ano na namang trip niya sa akin? Inirapan ko siya at iwinasiwas ang kamay ko sa harapan niya, tila naman nagising siya sa mundo at gulat na napatingin sakin.

"Are you okay angel?!" He panicked as he hold my shoulders as he gently shook me. He put his hands in my forehead as if checking my temperature.

"You're overreacting devil." I said. Well, I appreciate devil's effort. "What did happen?" I asked.

"Shouldn't I am the one supposed to ask you what happened, angel?" Tanong niya na nagtataka. "I was in the kitchen, you're calling me up like you are in a life and death matter, yes you were and I saw you in a fucked up situation." Yes, what just happened?

I frowned at him. "Langauge devil." I said and he just shrugged. "I guess I know my mission." I said in a serious tone.

Who is he? Who's this him that I have to kill. That will be a threat to heaven? Why am I supposed to do that? I can't kill anyone, unless I have the power.

I can kill devil or any devils out there, but I don't really know how. I need a power, just like devil's, he has fire. He can burn me to death or other Holy creatures he wants to kill. Yes devils can melt through prayers, reading bible, church and other Holy matters but after the melting process they will just go back to where hell they really belongs and can't ever return to human realm again.

I am only entitled as the Angel of Music because I was bestowed with that Divine gift by Godfather, and it wouldn't kill.

"What is your mission?" He asked curiously. "We should get that done so you can return." He added.

I shouldn't trust him with this, but then again, I ends up seeing myself telling devil everything. He has always been a reliable creature for me. I have seen it through that he has pure intentions of helping me. But something really bothers me. If I don't have a mission, kahit bali ang pakpak ko ay kusa akong makakabalik sa langit. Godfather didn't save me while I'm falling, so maybe I have a mission. That is proven by the voices I've heard, I think it's confirmed. I have a mission why am I here and can't return yet.

I just don't get it why I forgotten it. Did I rejected it? And then why?

Those flashes of memories are now a big mystery for me. My head is full of questions such as; who, why and how?

"I heard a voice of a girl that seems to be a flashback." I told. "The voice said I have to kill him, I don't know who's that him. The voice also said he could be a threat to heaven." I added.

"Did you recognize who owns that voice?"

"That I failed to." Nakasimangot kong sabi. I know few angels but I am not good at memorizing their voices.

"We have to think about ways how to know who you have to kill." He said. "I know it will be hard for you, if you can't do it, just let me do it for you." He added in a serious tone.

Why he is always like this? Is this normal for a devil? Hanggang ngayon ay nagtataka pa din ako kung bakit hindi siya napapatawag sa impyerno, sure he do his devil duties. But I can't really understand why hell doesn't know about Elijah being with an angel, worst helping that angel which is me.

Is this a trap? Does he really want to make me do grave sins so I will be sent to hell? I shouldn't trust him but I'm trusting him anyway. And I don't know why!

"If that's it, then I didn't accomplish my mission."

"Of course you do, your mission is to kill whoever is this he, so if he dies, basically you got your mission done." He said with a logical sense. "Plus I don't want your hands to be stained by a blood of some devils." He added, he hold my hands and look at me intently and with full sincerity.

Now I'm feeling butterflies in my stomach.

Maybe I'm hungry.

Maybe that's it.

Maybe it really is.

Or not?

Ugh.

"Devil let's eat." Umiwas ako sa mga tingin niya. Matutunaw ata ako doon! Akala ko siya lang ang pwedeng matunaw, ako din pala. His gazes are really something! I don't know what's with that. His dark coal eyes with burning flames inside really tells something that I could barely understand.

What is devil? Should I ask him who he really is?

But I have no time for that. I have to figure out who's my mission first, because heaven knows 'til when I can stay in human realm.

Marahan akong inalalayan ni Elijah na tumayo mula sa kama. I stared at him trying to figure out what I want to see. I know he is not letting me got him through his eyes. He is good at concealing his real emotion. Those emotions with stories.

Stories that I don't know.

Nakababa na kami at may pagkain na doon. Naka-plastic iyon, inayos naman iyon agad ni Elijah.

"Nag-order na ako ng pagkain because I can't cook." He said while preparing the food.

Napasimangot naman ako.

I rushed towards him and hug him from the back. It is not so me who insist hugs like this, but this is also the only way I found in comforting myself. I felt so tired with those voice, hugging devil is my last resort for my refuge.

Or maybe this is really my first option, the second, the third and I could lose count.

Humarap naman sa akin si Elijah at niyakap ako. Kinulong niya ako sa matipuno niyang mga braso at hinaplos ang aking buhok. I lay my head comfortably in his chest.

I don't even know that heaven could have different meanings and feelings. I don't know that I could feel like being in heaven with devil's hugs. A heaven in devil's arms.

I gently slap his back burying my face in his chest.

"You can cook." I mumbled. "Kahit sunog pa yan, kahit hindi masarap. Kakainin ko yun kasi ikaw yung gumawa nun. Kasi pinaghirapan mo yun. You're the best cook for me afterall." I added.

I close my eyes as I am feeling his heartbeat. I want to sing with a corresponding rhythm. Elijah is my song of life, in human realm.
