▪ VII: Burn

"Where are we going?" I asked devil. Paalis na kami ng bahay at pasakay sa kanyang motor.

"Maggagala? You've always been in the house since you came angel. Isn't it good na maglibot ka din dito sa mundo ng mga tao? This is your first time here." He said. I just silently nod and smile at him. How thoughtful of devil.

I've been in the house while devil sometimes goes out, because of his earthy duties as a devil. Maiiwan ako sa bahay at maglilinis na lamang. It's sad being alone in the house so when he asked me if I want him to stay I responded yes!

Kinuha niya ang helmet at isinuot iyon sa akin. Muli akong nakaramdam nang pagkailang dahil ang lapit ng mukha niya sa akin. Devil is still in his attire, suot ko naman ang short na pang-basketball niya daw at t-shirt niya. I look like a dope, pinahiram niya din ako ng tsinelas niya. Ang laki ng paa nitong si Elijah.

"Can we buy clothes devil?" I asked. Nakakahiyang mag-request pero  nahihirapan din ako dahil ang laki talaga ng mga damit at tsinelas niya para sa akin. Hirap maggala.

He pouted and I glared at him. Maybe he should stop being cute most of the time. It's really unfair how could a devil like him be this adorable.

"You look good in my shirt, but yep. You look dope." He laughed and I frowned. Hindi ko alam kung bakit ba trip na trip niya ako. Binuhat niya ako pasakay sa motor kaya nailang ako.

"That's unnecessary! Kaya ko umupo mag-isa 'no!" Bulyaw ko sa kanya at ngumisi naman siya.

"Ah-uh, ungrateful angel." He grinned. He really knows how to make me feel guilty with my responses towards him! This devil is really unbelievable!

I glared at him at tumatawa naman siyang sumakay sa motor at nagsimulang mag-drive.

I know Elijah is a good devil but now I just realized how much of a devil he really is.

"ELIJAAAAAH!!!" I shrieked in fear, fear and fear! He drives in a lightspeed and I don't know, I feel like I'm going to die even if I am immortal.

He seems to be enjoying this speed and he can laugh! How could he laugh? I'm almost crying!

"We won't die angel just enjoy the ride!" Hiyaw niya at kung bubulong lang ako ay hindi niya ako maririnig dahil sa sobrang bilis niyang mag-drive.

I shouldn't have ride a motor with devil! Sa susunod ay magco-commute na lang ako. Ugh!

"That I doubt! You're framing killing us!"

He laughed hard while I'm in the verge of crying. Gusto ko nang bawiin ang sinabi ko na mabait siya at thoughtful.

"You mean freaking angel?!" He laughed.

I tried to cuss again and failed. Alright there's nothing bad going to slip out of my mouth.

"Whatever! Just slow down!" Reklamo ko sa kanya.

"Choppy!" He laughed and I could feel that he grinned. He is really a devil!

Pagkarating sa mall ay agad akong nagsuka pagkababa namin. Nanlulumo akong napatingin sa isinuka ko. Nasayang ang pagkain dahil sa pagda-drive ni Elijah. Ugh.

Hinaplos niya ang likod ko at gumaan naman ang pakiramdam ko. When I felt better I glared at him.

"You should drive safely! You almost kill us!" Hiyaw ko sa kanya at tumawa lamang siya. He's really good at pissing me off!

"Just I say, we won't die angel." He laughed. "Unless you'll kill me or I'll kill you." Seryoso niyang dugtong. "But I think it's impossible that I'll kill you angel." Sabi pa niya.

Sinamaan ko na lang siya ng tingin. Even if we are immortals we can kill each other.

"And what is that? Haven't you almost killed me?!" I shrieked and he just laughed.

Umakbay siya sa akin at ginulo ang buhok ko. How could he! We're not close friends, though I live in his house does not mean we're close!

"Ang kulit mo talaga angel." Wika niya at napataas ako ng kilay, ako pa talaga ang makulit?! "Hindi naman kita papabayaan." Dagdag niya.

He's serious, ugh. I can't really guess when he's going to change his moods.

Hindi na ako sumagot at nakaakbay pa din sa akin si Elijah habang nakapamulsa ang isa niyang kamay. Kanina pa kami pinagtitinginan ng mga tao. Devil is a total head turner because he is devilishly handsome. I can't even count how many times did I say to myself how handsome he is. And so as me, I'm a head turner.

Not because I have angelic beauty, but because of what I am wearing. I frowned hearing people mumble something like 'weird', 'out of style' and 'a failed version of a lesbian'.

People are judgemental, as if they are as perfect as God.

As if they are the Creator.

And it hurts making them sin because of what I wear. It feels like it's my fault that they commit wrong judgement to others.

I mean, they're right that I'm somewhat weird, but we can't eliminate the fact that they still judged me. Even God doesn't judge the world's imperfections, so how could they?

"Hey it's not your fault angel." Devil whispered to me and I glared at him.

"Sabing don't read my mind e!" Pagmamaktol ko and he smiled widely. Kinurot niya ang ilong ko na para bang close kami.

"Cute." He commented and his face turned to its seriousness again, ugh. His moods are really a mystery to me. "It just shows in your face." He added.

Though he tend to lie because its their nature, I believed him. That he didn't read my mind.

"Sinful creatures." I whispered. He just pouted and ugh. I lost count on how many times did I say he's cute.

"Nah-uh, angel is mad." He said and gently tapped my head. "Hayaan mo na sila angel." He added.

It's just few words but he was able to comfort me and lessen my heavy feeling. Sometimes I wonder if Elijah is really a devil. I sometimes thought he's an angel in disguise, but the flashes of moments when we first met proves my thoughts wrong.

He has black wings.

And a dark aura.

But it didn't literally mean he's that bad. I could say he is the best devil I ever met.

"Hey why are you staring at my angel?" He talked to the guy in front of us, the guy smiled at me and I return it. Lalo akong inilapit ni Elijah sa katawan niya.

"She's pretty dude." The guy said.

"Yes she is." Nakangising tanong ni Elijah. "Now wanna burn in hell? Or burn now?" He asked.

Or maybe he's not a good devil afterall.
