▪ IV: No Saints

Dream.

It can also be a medium to communicate to other angels that I could probably ask for help, but I don't think this is what I was expecting before I fell asleep.

"Oh woah, angel!" Kumaway sa akin si Elijah. Hanggang sa panaginip ay guguluhin niya talaga ako!

"Bakit ka nandito sa panaginip ko?!" Reklamo ko sa kanya. "Shouldn't you be messing up with other's dreams and giving them nightmares?" I asked.

He grinned and I can't help but roll my eyes. If he wasn't in my dream I could have been talking to an angel now that would probably help me!

"Woah, bad angel." Umiling-iling siya. "An angel is asking a devil to do sinful deeds." He mocked and I just realized what I have said. Ugh! That is really there job! Devils can just interfere to people's dream unless that dream is under the protection of heaven. While angels can only interfere the dreams of those people under their guardianship. For short, guardian angel lang ang pwedeng pumasok sa panaginip ng tao!

"Why are you even here devil?!" I hissed. Sumeryoso naman ang mukha niya, moody.

"No Shaina." His voice is deep. "Why are you here." He added which made me raise my brows. What is he talking about?

"What?"

"You're not dreaming Shaina. This is not your dream." He said and that got me confused. "This is my dream and I was really doing my nightly job until you came. You entered my dream world and I just let you in, I thought you need something." He added.

I don't have a dream? But that can't be! I am an angel, when we sleep we will always be dreaming. It can't be that I don't have a dream.

"Wala ka ba talagang maalala kung paano ka nahulog?" Tanong niya at napailing ako. "You should hurry finding your way back Shaina." He added.

Lalo akong naguluhan, what is this?

"AHHHH!!!" Mabilis akong napalingon sa isang tabi at nakita ang batang lalaki na hinahabol ng malaking gagamba, lalapit na sana ako doon ngunit pinigilan ako ni Elijah.

"Why?!" I shrieked. "That 'lil kiddo over there needs our help!" I added and he burst out laughing! Ugh.

"Yeah bro, shou' we help that 'lil kiddo over there?" He answered like he is someone chosen by thug life. He laughed again. What a mood!

"Elijah!" I glared at him.

Sumeryoso naman siya ulit. Ugh, he changes his mood so fast!

"That is just a dream Shaina." He said and that only made me more eager to help him. "He didn't pray before he sleep plus he really hurt his guardian angel because it's out of sight when I interfere." He added.

He's punishing that innocent kid! I know it's their job but it is also my job to help those who is in need of help! Pinilit kong makakalas sa kapit ni Elijah ngunit sadyang malakas siya.

"Hindi ka niya guardian angel, Shaina. You can't interfere and help him." He said at napahinto ako, tama siya. "I know it's your compassion to help others. You can Shaina, but not in their dreams." He added.

Napaluhod naman ako habang nakatingin sa bata na takot na takot na hinahabol ng malaking gagamba. Naramdaman ko ang pagpatak ng mga luha ko, I felt a throb in my heart. We, angels hurts like this seeing other creatures in pain, whether it is good or bad.

Hindi siya mahahabol ng gagamba, that is just a bad dream. Tatakbo lang siya ng tatakbo hanggang sa magising siya. Tiningnan ko si Elijah na nakaiwas tingin lang sa bata, I saw a glimpse of sadness in his dark coal eyes. He doesn't want to see that kid crying in fright but I know, he can't do anything about it. It's his job afterall.

But I couldn't trust the idea that he don't want to give that child a bad dream. He is a devil, there soulless devilish body system feeds from people's fear.

I shook my head. I can't do anything about it. Napatigil ako sa pag-iyak nang maalala ko ang dapat kong malaman mula kay Elijah. Tumingala ako ng tingin sa kanya at tumikhim kaya naman nakuha ko ang atensyon niya.

"Why am I not dreaming?" I asked, full of fear. How many will I tell this can't be.

"Just like I said, you should hurry finding your way back." He said in full seriousness. "I doubt if the heaven knows about this." He added.

Napatingin ako sa kanya ng maigi. Bakit siya nag-aalala? But that is also least of my concern for now. Why can't I dream?

"I doubt too." Pag-amin ko. "I wouldn't fall at the first place if they knew." I added.

Nag-isip naman siya. Hindi rin ba siya nagtataka na hindi siya pinapatawag sa impyerno? Remember, he helped me! That's unusual. Hindi ko makitang sapat na dahilan na gusto niya akong gumawa ng kasalanan bago dalhin sa mundo nila.

Pero may point talaga e. Elijah knows the all abouts of heaven, is he a former angel? Why I don't know him then? At sa pagkakaalam ko inaalis ang memorya ng lahat ng inihuhulog sa impyerno.

I don't know why I keep on doubting Elijah, maybe because he is a devil but I could really feel the sincerity in his assistance!

"Elijah.." Tawag ko sa kanya at tumayo, hindi ko alam kung anong gagawin ko.

"Don't you think someone push you?" He said out of nowhere.

I glared at him, how dare he?!

"I fell from heaven Elijah! Heaven is filled with angels, who would do such an act?" I asked unbelievably. "If someone push me they should have told higher angels to help me before I could ever came here." I added.

"Shaina, devils were once an angel. Humans too. We are all angels tested by temptations and that it created devils and humans." He said.

"Who would do that to me, Elijah? Who?" I asked.

"I think no saint can hear you Shaina. Someone or I don't know should have planned all of this all along." He said which left me dumfounded.
