I threw an eye on the display before I hung up. "Bryan" was what the screen told me. I would call him back after the test. If I survived it.

Then i noticed Layla looking questioning at me. I responded by shaking my head gently. Actually not sure what I wanted to say with that.

•••••••

"Who called you?" Layla asked me when we walked out from the classroom. But I was not fast enough to answer before my phone called for the second time.

"Aine, who's calling all the time?" Layla said, now even more impatiently. I glanced at the screen, and not very surprisingly Bryan's name was shown on it. I could not hang up one more time. I did not want him to think that something was wrong. So I made a gesture to Layla to wait while I answered.

"Hey." I said.

"Hi, how're you?" Bryan said and I felt my cheeks getting warm by his words.

"I'm fine, you?"

"Yeah, me too. Just wanted to hear if you have time to meet up after school today?"

"That would be great. Is it for any special reason?"

"I'll actually be away for about two weeks, so this time would be the last we get to see each other before my departure."

At once I felt disappointed.

''Okey...but we'll see each other today then?" I said, but the energy in my voice had reduced. The thought of not being able to meet him in two weeks made me feel a bit hopeless.

"Yes, call me when you've finished school for today."

I hung up and met Layla's gaze.

"Explain now." She said and took a hard grip around my wrist and led me to her locker.

She leaned her shoulder agains her locker and waited for me to start talking. I did the same and stood in front of her. I didn't knew Bryan would call me, so I was not mentally prepared for this. Maybe it should not be a big thing telling Layla, but for some reason it was. It was so much feelings involved. But at the same time I could not deny I felt little exited to tell her.

"I met him for the first time at the club that night a week ago." I almost whispered.

"What? Who?"

"You know the guy who lent me a jumper for my bleeding head..."

"Is it him? How can I not know this?!" Layla interrupted, a little too loud for everyone else in the corridor to hear what she had said.

I sighted and looked at Layla who looked like she was solving an equation in her head.

"I don't understand.... so you've met after that?"

"We met again at a football match this Saturday and exchanged numbers."

"This Saturday? This weekend?"

"I said this Saturday, yes.''

"I'm in chock Aine. You are so sneaky! How serious is this?"

"I don't know exactly what he feels, but, I mean... I really like him. I just want to be with him." I said and fingered on my phone. "We'll meet after school today actually."

I looked at Layla who just stared at me with a broad smile on her face.

"What is it?" I asked.

"You've had your first kiss, haven't you?" She said, still smiling. And I nodded and couldn't resist from smiling me too.

"But you haven't, you know...done that?"

"Oh my god Layla! Of course not, we've known each other for a week, rarely."

"Sorry, just had to ask. I mean, I can't be sure of what you're up to anymore." She said teasingly.
