"Have a drink?" A responded while frowning my forehead, "On a Monday? I have to finish my essay if I want to become something else than a stripper."

"Come one you'll have enough time to finish it tomorrow, let's have som fun instead!"

"I don't know... don't know if I'm in the right mood anyway." I said and entered the class room whith Layla right behind me almost stepping on my heels.

"No Aine. You've said that to many times during your life. Why don't you just give it a try? We can leave when it gets boring." She said and we chose two benches on the second row.

I knew she was right, and it made me uneasy. I often come up with a reason to not join parties and going outs. I'm not comfortable in those situations when you have to socialise. But why I'm I so afraid of taking risks and to change myself? I hate myself because of that.

"Fine then." I answered quietly.

"Yes! We'll have so much fun, I promise you, and you'll not miss that essay writing." And that's the last we got to say to each other before the lesson began.

I couldn't concentrate on what was said in my grammar book. Nothing made sense. I hadn't been this tired of school in my whole life, which was kind of a bad timing, because this was the year when you're supposed to work hard to graduate with high grades. So I should be grateful for Laylas suggestion to go out and leave the study home for a night. Yeah, I just have to be more optimistic about this. I'll try at least.

When I arrived to our apartment and entered trough the door, I saw my dad cooking dinner in the kitchen. The apartment is large, I'm not going to lie. It's more than big enough for a one child family. My dad earns a generous amount of money as a bank man. He works a lot, and late at night, so that's why I'm surprised to see him home even before me. The clock was not even 5 pm.

"Hello there sunshine, how was your day?" My dad shouted from the kitchen. That's what he always calls me, or just Shine, that's what Aine means in Irish.

"Fine. Why are you home so early?" I asked and entered the kitchen. I grabbed a carrot slice and jumped up on the counter behind him.

"I thought it would be nice to eat dinner with you and your mother for once. We haven't done that in ages, so I came home earlier to even cook the dinner myself. I'm even making dessert." He says with a content smile and put in the potato cubes in the oven.

"Oh, that's... very nice of you, I think mum's really going to appreciate it." I said while observing the steam from the frying pan approaching the ventilation.

"But I'm going out with Layla tonight."

He turned around his head and meet my eyes for a short second, then back again to watch the pans. "Oh, how fun, but on a Monday? Don't you have school work?"

I knew that would be the reaction, cause that had been my first thought too.

"I know, but I have enough time to finish that tomorrow." I said trying to sound convincing, as much towards my dad as myself. "And I'll eat something just before I leave."

Then i I saw the disappointment appear on his face. "Oh and you're not having dinner with us of course. But you know I can do this again some other time. Nothing to do about it." He said with a kind smile.

I walked to my room fretting over the fact that I disappointed my hard working and carrying dad. But as he said, nothing to do about it.

I opened my closet to face my possible outfits for the night. I hated my clothes, nothing fits properly. They just made me insecure in my body. I can't blame it on my length, because Layla is even taller than me, and everything suits her. I would need a complete new closet. I haven't been shopping for months.

I picked a light blue, tight crop top and a pair of low wasted jeans that my mother bought me two weeks ago. I tried them on and looked at the reflection in the mirror. I got surprised, in a good way. If I let down my long blonde hair and applied some mascara I could look cute. My hair even has small waves, that I've been straightening until I realised how much damage the heat caused to my hair.

8 pm the doorbell rang and Layla stood out side and gave me a hug when I joined her. We walked down to the nearest club. Ready to party.
