Chapter 22 - If I let you go

The town was moving. The dusk had arrived and some of the street lights lighted up the streets below.

"It's getting cold." I muttered and rubbed my hands against each other frenetically.

We hurried our step towards the stadium where the concert would be hold. On our way, we passed groups with girls dressed like they had forgotten to turn the calendar page two moths ago. They wore short skirts, a tiny tank top and thin jackets either fake leather or jeans. I get it, they were probably also an their way to see Westlife, but it was still the middle of September. Long legged jeans had been my only option since I hate getting cold. My black hoody and jeans jacket made me not as glamorous either.

Before we could join the audience crowd, we had to pass a guard who checked our tickets and gave Layla a wink.

"You saw that?" I mumbled in Layla's ear when we'd passed.

She just answered with content smile. Attention from boys, even if this time it was a man in his late twenties, was nothing foreign to her.

We elbowed our way to a place as near the stage as possible. We didn't come here to see nothing. After some murder gazes we finally got quite near the stage.

After half an hour the concert began. Lights were flashing and smoke came out from behind the stage. The sound of an intro to one of their songs started and five silhouettes appeared in the fog. This was well done I thought, not bad so far. This song I'd actually heard, probably Layla had been singing it. You could not see their faces properly yet but the song lyrics sounded clearly.

"Day after day
Time pass away
And I just can't get you off my mind
Nobody knows
I hide it inside..."

I could finally see their faces. First one, the singing guy was either Mark or Shane. I guessed for Shane since he was rather short. Soon the other dark haired guy started to sing, so that must be Mark then. When they all started to sing together I switched my eyes to a taller, dark blond guy. Could that be the tall member Layla spoke about, Bry...

For one second he looked my way and our eyes met. I stopped breathing. It couldn't be true. It couldn't be. How could it possibly?!

It was Bryan!

He stopped to sing when he got stuck by my gaze. I heard some confused voices behind me.

"He's looking this way!"
"Who's he staring at?!"

He missed the first line on his solo part, but got soon in to it when he tore his gaze away.

I felt dizzy and sick. My head hurt. It was filled with so many thoughts and it felt like it could explode any second.

I ran away through screaming and waving Westlife fans as I tried to get out. I heard the last phrase of the song and a murmur of stupid girls screaming their heads of when I finally got out.
