I was finishing up when my phone suddenly rang. Baka si Kim na itong tumatawag. Dali dali akong lumabas ng comfort room and looked for my phone. I took a glimpse on my side table where my clock is at.. Shit shit shit, usapan namin na susunduin nila ako ng 10 pm. 10:15 na pala! Narinig ko pa itong bumusina making me hurry up. “Yo Kim, andyan na andyan na, pababa na ako” I answered while tucking the phone in between my ear and my shoulder. I was checking my bag while skipping on my way out.
Patakbo akong bumababa ng hagdan when I found mama by the bar. Looks like malalim na naman ang iniisip nya. I was hoping na hindi na nya ako mapansin when she suddenly spoke.
“Mika, aalis ka pa e dis-oras na ng gabi?” bati nya sa akin.
“Saglit lang ako ma. Nagkayayaan lang with friends. Don’t wait up on me. I have my own keys.” I kissed her on her forehead and proceeded out, hurrying up before she can say another word.
Wala nang nagawa ang mama ko. What I want, I get! I felt guilty leaving her in that state, but what can I do, I don’t want to be like her. I swore I will never be like her. Ayokong maging submissive na asawa. I don’t want to be a wife na uuwian lang kapag tapos na sa kerida. I will never be serious in a relationship. Never!
I was still by the door thinking of ma when I heard Tin shout. “Mika, bilisan mo na!” which snapped me back to reality. I jogged on my way out. Closed the gate and rushed to the car.
Tin was already in the front passenger seat. Kim on the seat opposite Tin's. “Asan si Nice? “ I uttered as I opened the back passenger door. I tossed my bag inside and squatted on my way in.
“Sunod daw sa atin. May tinatapos lang na paper works.” Answered Tin while setting up the auxillary wire in Kim’s car.
“So, where to?” I asked toying with my phone. I was browsing through my twitter and Instagram accounts checking if there is anything interesting.
“The regular? Encore?” Kim looked at Tin then me while smiling.
“G!” sabe nalang ni Tin habang naghahanap ng magandang sounds.
Since it is a Friday, expect heavy traffic, lalo na on the way to Taguig. Friday payday sale day… What could possibly go wrong, right? We were still on the road and I checked my watch, almost 11:00 na pala. “Wala pa ba text from Nice?” I asked Tin.
“Wala pa e. Alam mo naman yun si lola. You better call her up Miks!”
I unlocked my phone and went to my contacts. Searched for Nice’s name and hit the call button. It took 5 rings before she answered my call.
“Nice, ano na? Asan ka na? On the way na kame nila Tin and Kim! Encore!” dere deretso kong tanong sa kanya.
“Uhmm Miks, pass muna. Dame ko pang ginagawa e. Kelangan ko pa tapusin to. And besides, you know I don’t drink too much. Hindi lang kayo mageenjoy kasama ako.” Nice explained.
“Party pooper naman nito o! O sige na lola. Just give us a ring if you change your mind. Bye.”
“Bye Miks. Enjoy kayo dun. Say hi to Tin and Kim for me.”
“Bye lola.” Biro ko pa sa kanya before dropping the call. “Hay naku si Nice.”
“Ano sabe?” tanong ni Kim? “Hindi na naman daw siya sasama?”
“Madame pa daw siya tatapusin e. Next time nalang daw”
After another agonizing 30 minutes, we arrived at our destination. I was the first to get out of the car. Tin and Kim followed me, gave the keys to the valet and we made our way inside. I must say we are such regulars that we need not wait on a table. We were ushered to our usual spot, a table by the bar, a few steps from the rest room. After getting our usual gin tonics and pretty much swaying to the house mix, another round of drinks were sent to our table. The three of us looked at each other, puzzled. “Ikaw ba umorder?” Tin broke the silence asking me. “Nope” I replied, until we saw a note in the table. Kim picked it up, checked it and handed it to me.

I searched the room trying to check if I know someone until my eyes caught this familiar person. 3 tables from us is Ryan and his friends. I tapped Tin’s shoulder, pointed at Ryan and Tin and I high fived while laughing. I gave Ryan my flirtiest smile, winked and thought to myself...
“This is gonna be a fun night…”
