Ch. 16 Why? Who?

Ming POV

I know that I had given Forth my blessing but I just don't know. I still have strong feelings for Yo and can't seem to get rid of them. After arriving in Yo's room we all had whispered our feelings to him in his unconscious state. I don't know why or what came over us but all three of us kissed Yo. Forth on his left cheek, Pha on his right, and I on his forehead.

The next thing we knew was a cough coming from the entrance of the room. The three of us were startled and just staring at a bewildered Kit and Beam.

"Interrupting something are we?" Kit said.

"Maybe." I joked trying to be rid of the awkward silence.

"So where are Yo's parents?" Beam asked.

"They're talking to the Doctor about what are their options and Yo's current condition." Forth answered.

Goddamnit, I had forgotten about his parents' decision. I know Ma and Pa love Yo and care deeply for him. When hearing the news that they wanted to pull the plug it was a surprise to me. They would never mean to hurt Yo intentionally so I assume it just may be their instincts telling them that he's in pain. They may have just given up on any hope they had of Yo waking up from this coma.

"What are we to do?" Beam asked.

"All we can do. Just try and convince Yo's parents not to go on with this decision. As much as I would force them to stop we have no right to come between parents and their child." Forth answered.

He's right as much as I would love to disagree. He's absolutely correct. We can't stop them all we can do is convince them. We will continue to fight for Yo until the day he wakes up.

One Hour Later

His parents had just come into the room after conversing with the Doctors. Yo's Mom looks distraught and his father is comforting her by holding her close.

"Hello, boys. You all already know why you're here." Pa said.

We all nodded in unison.

"We have made this decision because it's hard for us to continue on like this knowing that our Yo is suffering like this." he continued.

"But Pa how do you know he's suffering? He isn't ill or dying?" I say

"You may be right Ming but has the thought ever occurred to you that it's not a physical ailment but a mental one?" he answered.

We all turned to each other looking confused by what Pa meant.

"I'm sorry Sir but I am a bit confused on what you mean by that?" Pha asked.

"I understand that you all must be confused by my words. What I am trying to say is that Yo is dying but slowly. He is in an unconscious state where he may never wake up yes, but his mind is still processing. The Doctors were able to do an assessment on his brain and come to the conclusion that Yo is still thinking or dreaming per se and that his mind is kind of shutting down. They concluded that it may be that Yo's going through a state of depression in his limbo world. Due to his mental state, his mind has reduced the other functions of his body meaning that he's slowly shutting his own body down." he explains.
