Luna had trouble sleeping. She kept thinking about Adrien, if she should give her heart a chance or not, if she should face her fear or stay a coward, if it's okay to admit that she likes him back or just hide it to herself. She was puzzled and confused with her emotions and thoughts.
Friday
Luna decided to have a sleepless night and just attend her daily training early. She casually did her morning routine and went to the headquarters. When she entered the building, she felt a pair of eyes glued onto her, but she shrugged it off. She walked towards the front desk and greeted the lady in charge behind the desk. "Good morning" Luna said with a small smile. "Oh, good morning Agent 001, you're here early?" the lady mentioned.
"yeah, decided to come earlier than usual. Is Ace here yet?"
"No. he'll arrive in an hour"
"alright, thanks Ms. Smith"
After having a small conversation with the lady at the front desk, Luna turned around to go to the elevator, but stopped her actions when she saw a young girl looking at her. The girl realized that she got caught, which made Luna chuckle. "There are the pair of eyes I felt on me earlier" she said under her breath. She walked towards the young girl and sat beside her. "hey" Luna greeted, but the girl kept her head hung low. "it's a rare thing to see a teenage girl like you in this building" she added, and the girl finally raised her head. Luna observed her; she looks like she's around 18 to 20 years old. She has long black hair and looks like she has a fit body. Luna and the girl had a pretty long conversation while waiting for Ace. While they were in a middle of a conversation, Adrien walked in the building and immediately fixed his gaze on Luna. He walked towards her and greeted her. "Hey Lu, you're here early" Adrien said with a smile. "I felt like training early today, so I came earlier than expected" Luna responded. "and who's this?" Adrien asked, making his voice deeper and giving the young girl a dirty look. "her name's Laura. And don't look at her like that, you're scaring the kid" Luna said and slapped Adrien's arm.
"okay, I'm sorry. I feel like she's looking for Ace"
"she is"
"good news for her, he'll arrive in a few minutes. I saw him buying something in a bakery shop near hear"
"alright. Are you going to the training room?"
"Duh, where else?"
"don't make me swear in front of a kid. Anyway, I'll come with you. Are you good on your own? Ace will arrive in a few minutes"
It seemed like the girl spaced out, seeing the way she snapped out of her thoughts when Luna asked her. "y-yeah, I'm good" the girl stuttered but still smiled. "Okay, I'll see you around I guess" Luna said and stood up, grabbing her bag. She was walking towards the elevator with Adrien when the girl called her. "wait! What's your name?" the girl asked before Luna could walk any further. "It's Luna, but don't go around telling people that name, got it?" she answered said with a smile.
"was that girl lost or something?" Adrien asked Luna while they were in the elevator. "no, she has a request for Ace" she answered, not even looking back at him. "are you alright?" he asked, noticing Luna's way of talking. "yeah. I just have a lot of thoughts in my head right now" she explained. Adrien was about to ask even further, but the elevator opened, and Luna quickly walked out. "Well shit" he said under his breath, scared that he's done something wrong.
Luna walked in the training room and went straight to the locker area. She changed her clothes and placed her bag in her locker. When she was done prepping, she went out of the locker area and started to do her daily training, Adrien was just watching her. He couldn't build up the courage he needs to start a conversation with her.
In a few minutes, Kelly arrived and didn't even question Luna as to why she was being quiet, she already know that Luna has a lot in her mind right now, she'd rather not bother her. Kelly told Adrien that he shouldn't stress about it, and that Luna is just going through something. Adrien nodded and went on with his training.
12:13 noon
It was their lunch break. Adrien and Kelly went out to eat. They tried to invite Luna for a lunch out, but she denied multiple times. So, she's left in the training room, eating quietly while thinking about the situation she's in.
I mean, I've known him long enough. But that doesn't mean I'll just accept him with open arms. Who knows, maybe he's not even sure about his feelings. Maybe he just thinks that he likes me, but he actually doesn't. maybe he's just messing with me because he knows what I've gone through before.
Luna snapped out of her thoughts when someone called her name. "Luna, may I speak to you in my office?" Ace said, peeking in the training room. Luna nodded and stood up to go to Ace's office. Once she got there, she saw Ace, behind his desk, holding a folder. "seems like I have a mission?" Luna said as she sat down on the couch. "Is this about that Laura girl from earlier?" she asked. "yes. She just wants to threaten this certain person" Ace explained. "is her reason valid?" she added. "This certain person is threatening Laura's friend, just so she'll avoid this guy that she likes" he explained further as he handed Luna the folder. She took it with respect and scanned the file in it. "Enough information. When do I need to do this?" she asked as she placed the folder on the table. "If you can, finish this mission by tonight. It seems to me that Laura wants Natasha off her friend's hair as soon as possible" Ace answered. "And, I don't want to keep my daughter waiting" he added. Luna tilted her head a little, showing that she was confused. "Laura is my daughter. Her mother left her in an adoption center because she didn't want her to follow my footsteps, considering what I do for a living. If you're going to ask if she knows, no, she doesn't, not yet at least" he explained. "and when are you going to tell her?" she asked, crossing her legs and arms. "eventually. I still don't know how she'll feel if she finds out that I am her father" Ace said and lowered his head. Luna noticed how anxious Ace became. She stood up and walked towards him. "take your time Ace. You don't need to rush things. Besides, I have a hinge that the people who adopted her knows who you are and knows your relationship with Laura" Luna said with a smooth and calming voice as she hugged Ace. "and if things go down, you know that I still exist" she added, earning a small laugh from Ace. "thanks sweetie. Now go get ready and finish this mission" Ace said and lets go of the hug. "do I receive an award if I finish this by tonight?" Luna asked and raised one of her eyebrows. "you get to have a day off tomorrow" Ace answered. "the whole day?" "the whole day". Luna cheered and left his office, right after saying her good night of course.
