Say Goodbye

Tonight was the last night all three of us would be together in the same place for a while. We stayed up talking about everything and nothing. Things we love, things we hate, reliving childhood memories, inside jokes and so much more. Daniel went to be around 8pm and we stayed up all night. It was 4am when we decided to get ready.

I get in some grey jean shorts and a red shirt. Grace and Marylinn wear the exact same thing, as this will be their last twin day possible. They wear some sun glasses, pink and white polka dot shirt and a black skirt.

Grace walks out of her room with her bags she had packed, everything else has already been shipped off. She has tears in her eyes.

"Oh Grace." I say rushing to her side and giving her a hug.

"Don't cry." Marylinn says following quickly behind home. Daniel walks out of his room ready to go for the day. He starts recording the sad exchange.

"I'm gonna miss you guys." Grace says as a tear escapes her eyes.

"This is not goodbye." I hold in a sob.

"Yes it is. We all know how this ends." Marylinn said, you could practically hear her heart break.

"Your the one tell me to look on the bright side!" Grace says rubbing her back.

"I know, I know," she wipes her tears away. "I don't wanna say goodbye to you two. You have helped with everything from my family to getting fired."

"You got fired cause you stole a cake!" I say sobbing but smiling.

"Because it was your birthday and we were all broke!" Marylinn says sobbing but smiling as well.

"God, we are so stupid." Grace says chuckling as tears roll down her face.

"I love you goofballs." Marylinn says. We wrap our arms around each other.

"I love you two." Grace says through sobs.

"I love you three." I say following the trend of sobbing.

After a minute or two of just pure hugging and crying, we pull away.

"We have to go if we want to get you on your plane." Marylinn says to Grace.

Grace looks at me and pulls me into a hug. "When I hit 9 months, I'm gonna fly you three out to be there with me. I'm not gonna have triplets with out guys." She tells me. "Have a safe drive back to LA, and for Christ's sake," she now whispers. "Tell him you love him."

We hold each other and I whisper back, "I will."

Once we pull away me and Grace share a long meaningful hug. I've known her since I was in 5th grade, then met Marylinn my freshman year of high school.

"Thank you for helping me when I was confused in who I was, for helping me survive the last 6 years." I whisper into Marylinn ear.

"Your welcome, thank you for being my best friend even when I had nobody else." She says.

I pull away and face the both of them. "Have a safe flight and text me when you land." I say.

"I will, you drive safe and call me when you get to your new home." Grace says.

"Call me too." Marylinn says.

Marylinn and Grace say their goodbyes to Daniel and they get in Graces car and drive off.

"Are you okay?" Daniel asks coming up behind me and rubbing my back.

"No, but I will be." I say.
