A couple of days later Alyssa was back to her old self. But when someone came in the room she jumped. Correction, she was almost back to her old self.

I had finished getting ready for our meeting with the counselors. Alyssa was doing my tie for me, but she was following a how to on YouTube.

"Alyssa, I can do my own tie." I tell her.

"It's the wife-ly thing to do. I need to learn how." She argues back with me. I roll my eyes, but smile at how she wanted to help. After several failed attempts, she finally gets it.

"Yes!" She yells jumping up and down in joy. I laugh at how happy she is. "I'm going to get my dress on now." She says walking into our walk in closet.

When she walks out, she is no longer in her pajamas. She is in a beautiful, knee length, light blue dress that make her brown eyes pop. She had her makeup and hair done already. She turned her back to me and asked, "Can you zip it up for me?" I nod and zip it up. "Thank you." She walks back into the closet and comes back with a pair of heels. She sits on the bed and puts them on. "Are you staring at me?" She questions looking up at me.

"I'm looking you and how beautiful you are." I say in reply. I start walking to her and she stands up and meets me half way. She grabs on to my jacket and I put my arms around her waist.

"Your very handsome." She says.

"Why thank you miss." I say leaning down a little bit. I kiss her.

"Now let's go have our meeting." She says pulling back. She grabs her purse and starts walking through the door. By the time I grab my phone and go after her she's already at the door. I run down the stairs and she starts walking out the door. By the time I make it to the car she is already in the drivers seat. I laugh and sit next to her.

*time skip to when they start the meeting*

"So how is it going between the two of you?" One of them asks.

"Good, really good." I reply. Alyssa smiles like a fool and puts her head on my shoulder and nods. I kiss her the top of her head. I see the counselors smile.

"We heard the awful news about someone coming into your house and hurting you. How are you holding up?" They ask.

"I'm doing okay, but I've been very careful in what I do." Alyssa says putting her head up.

"I'm doing okay. I've been taking care of her and we've had a nice couple of days. All things considered." I say taking her hand.

We answer some more questions. And then we hear "CUT! Let's get some questions answered individually." We get pulled apart and I meet with them one on one.

"Daniel, just based on the last four weeks. Do you think you would want to stay married?" They ask.

I feel my heart pound, my hands become sweaty and my breath hitches. "Yes, I love her. I know it's only been four weeks, but she made it too easy."

"Have you told her?"

"No, but I want too. But I'm scared too." I say rubbing my hands together. I answer more questions then Alyssa is brought out to answer questions and I'm taken to the dressing room.

_______

I sit down and the seat is warm, Daniel was just here.

"Alyssa, in the four weeks you have been married. Would you still want to be married?"

I smile. "Yes. He brightens my day, makes me smile when I'm sad. I love him."
