It's been exactly a week since I got home.
And things were actually different.
For starters.
I was dating Cain Parker.
And the other thing was.
Keisha moved in with Kimmy.
I know fast right?
Just a week ago Kimmy was hung up on guys and other stuff, and suddenly she's flirting and trying to get with Keisha Mendez.
I mean, it was kind of cute.
But at the same time it was weird.
I was also on bed arrest until further notice.
Which, as exciting as I thought it'd be.
I.Was.Fucking.Bored.
I couldn't move around freely, and laying on my stomach was not an option.
I was supposed to have some physical therapist come in, in a week.
They were supposed to help with me moving around, which meant I had to use a back brace after all.
I just couldn't stand for more than fifteen to thirty minutes, without my bones thinking otherwise.
And Cain has been so patient about the whole thing.
Which was good.
He'd sit in different areas of the bedroom, and when my parents called to video chat.
He'd leave the room for us to talk.
Of course Sophia cried the first time she called, after I was released from the hospital.
I stared at the ceiling frowning.
"What's on your mind?" Cain questioned, his fingers laced with mine.
I glanced to him.
"I'm bored, I want to move around." I whined.
Cain sighed.
"You know you can't Angel, the doctor said it'd make your condition worse if you tried to move after only a week. Your lower back was fractured, so you need to be patient." He said.
I frowned deeply.
"How am I supposed to lay here for two and a half months?"
"By laying there and not moving." Cain deadpanned as I glared at the other.
He shrugged.
"Consider it a punishment if anything, and for trusting dating apps." He told me.
I looked away slowly exhaling now.
"How many times are you going to bring that up?" I asked him.
He looked to me.
"As many times as I need to, for you to remember why you're laying in bed, and why you can't attend college right now or even work." He looked to his phone.
"Speaking of work, my shift begins shortly." He leaned over kissing me now.
"I'll be back after work, don't go anywhere." He said with a smirk as I flipped the other off.
He smirked leaving the room.
~~~~
"I brought the notes you've been missing." Jeremy said sitting at the side of the bed now, the papers in his hands.
I looked to him with a small smile.
"Thanks, Jere." I said as he smiled.
"How are you feeling, man?" He asked now.
I gave off a soft sigh.
"I mean I'm still really sore, and I've had my legs and arms both go numb." I confessed.
Jeremy nodded.
"The doctor said you'd have those kind of symptoms." He told me.
I nodded with a frown.
"I know, its just an annoying feeling." I murmured.
Jeremy smirked softly.
"Did you delete the dating app?" He asked.
I frowned.
"As soon as I got the chance, I want no part of that app, plus. I am kind of dating Cain." I said with a smile.
Jeremy rolled his eyes.
"Who would of known, saving your dumb ass, would lead to you two dating. Its kind of cliche."
"Your face is cliche." I shot with a grin.
He smirked.
"Honestly, I'm ready for you to get out of bed, so I can start punching you again." He told me.
I arched a brow.
"Go punch Kimmy." I told him.
His eyes widened.
"And risk brain damage? Yeah, no thanks. Plus, she's been busy with Ms.Mendez." He said making kissy faces.
I grinned at the other.
"She'd kill you for making that expression." I pointed out.
He shrugged.
"I'd accept it." He said.
I smiled then looked to the clock.
Eight-Forty Nine Pm.
I looked away disappointed.
"His shift ends at nine, he'll be here soon." Jeremy said as if reading my mind.
I looked to him.
"I just wish he had earlier shifts." I told him.
Jeremy smiled.
"I know, but in the meantime. Are you hungry?" He asked.
I nodded.
He nodded.
"Alright, I'll go whip something up." He said standing up.
"Are the girls here?" I asked him.
He stopped and looked to me.
"They're in the guest room being lesbians." He said.
My face scrunched up.
"Alright, detail I didn't need, Jere." I murmured.
He grinned.
"You asked man."
"If they were here! Not if they were having sex." I groaned.
"Now that's an image not leaving my head anytime soon." I whined.
He smirked leaving the room.
"Just order some pizza!" I yelled now.
Jeremy poked his head back in.
"What flavor?" He questioned.
I shrugged.
"Whatever the girls want, I guess." I said.
He nodded vanishing.
~~~~
Once the pizza got here, everyone had gathered in my room to eat.
It was Kimmy's idea so I wasn't left out when they ate.
Which was pretty nice.
I was able to sit up by a little bit.
Thankfully the girls had decided on a supreme pizza, which was right up my alley.
"So I was thinking, once Angel is healed, we should go to my uncles beach house." Jeremy suggested now taking a drink of his coke.
I blinked.
"Your uncle has a beach house?" I questioned.
He blinked but nodded.
"Yeah, he-"
"Which uncle?" Kimmy asked now confused.
Jeremy looked at her for the longest time.
"My uncle Marvin." He told us now.
I looked to him.
"I thought he was in jail." I pointed out.
Jeremy ran a hand through his hair.
"He still is in jail, but-"
"Why is your uncle in jail?" Cain asked him.
Jeremy groaned.
"Can I finish? Please!" He frowned at us now.
We all raised our hands in defense.
"Sorry dude." I said.
Jeremy sat there studying his pizza slice for a moment.
"When Angel is healed, I was going to convince my uncle who is in jail, for some crime he did NOT commit, to let us use his beach house for the week. I mean, we get spring break while in college and since Keisha isn't IN college. I thought it'd be even easier to invite her as well." He finished now.
I smiled softly now.
"A beach house sounds like a great idea." I told him.
Jeremy smiled.
"Its just for us to get away, and since it's a two week break, we'd have that extra week to do whatever." He said with a smirk.
We each nodded.
~~~~
After everyone was done eating, Keisha and Kimmy left minutes before Jeremy did.
Cain declared he'd be staying over so I'd have someone to talk to.
Which it made no difference to me, I was used to being alone with Muffin, so another person being here because they thought they needed to be.
Kind of bugged me?
Then again, he was my boyfriend.
~~~~~
Another week had flew by, and my physical therapist had finally came in.
And of course the male best friend and boyfriend, were both unhappy.
And here was why.
My therapist was a guy.
Elijah Pittman.
He was actually pretty attractive as bad as that sounds.
His brown hair was tied into a bun, while his blue eyes hid behind glasses.
He was in dark blue scrubs as he greeted me with a smile, in my room.
"How are we feeling today, Angel?" Elijah questioned, his clipboard in hand while Jeremy and Cain sat in front of the closet, their eyes locked on him.
Ignoring them, I smiled softly.
"I mean I've been numb on and off, and I'd love to turn over at some point." I told him.
He smiled softly.
"I'm sure its exhausting to lay on your bed all of the time, but its only been two weeks. You still have eight to go." He said writing something down on his clipboard.
I frowned softly.
Elijah sat the clipboard down.
"Which is why I'm here, to get you started on that road of movement." He said.
I nodded as he came over, placing his hands on my left side.
I flinched at his touch earning Cain to growl lowly.
"Down boy." Jeremy whispered.
"Your hands are freezing." I pointed out.
Elijah gave off an apologetic smile.
"I usually ride in my car with the ac blasting, my apologies for not saying something sooner." He said as he began to slowly and carefully move me to my side.
"Ow." I cried with my brows knitting.
Elijah frowned.
"I know, its discomforting, but we have to get your bones and muscles to readjust." He said moving to the right side, doing the same thing.
I cried out in pain as Cain jumped to his feet.
"Stop, you're hurting him." He demanded.
Elijah stopped and looked to him.
"I am helping him, he is going to hurt at first." He said frowning.
Cain looked to me as I felt myself grow in cold sweat.
"I'm fine, Cain." I reassured the other who didn't look convinced.
He looked to Elijah.
"Just.. be careful with him, he's fragile." He said sitting back down, as Jeremy patted the other on his back.
Elijah looked to me.
"Shall we continue?" He asked me.
I frowned but nodded.
He nodded moving back to the left side, repeating the movement.
We did this for thirty minutes.
And each time.
I cried.
Elijah stood at the bedroom door.
"In two weeks, we will start with you sitting up, and after that. We will try with walking, if you're comfortable with it." He said writing something down.
I frowned but nodded.
"What about a wheelchair?" Jeremy questioned now.
Elijah blinked.
"What about it?" He asked.
Jeremy looked to me.
"If we were to get him a wheelchair, could Angel be pushed around in his current state?" He asked him.
Elijah frowned.
"That's something you should talk to about with his doctor, I'm only the therapist. But in my honest opinion, just based on how Angel reacted to movements today. I would not recommend moving him out of bed, until he's able to properly sit up without any complaints." He explained to the other.
Jeremy sighed softly.
"So cushions are not an option, either?" He asked.
Elijah looked to me.
"I wouldn't risk it, his lower back was fractured that ended up in surgery over, I know it sucks laying in bed all of the time. But having a second surgery could risk your back messing up, more than it already has." He frowned.
"I'll return at the end of the week, to try again with your movements, and like I said. Two weeks after that, we will begin with you sitting up." He said stepping out of the room.
~~~~
I lied there frowning deeply.
"He didn't hurt you too much, did he?" Cain asked concerned.
I smiled softly at how much he reminded me of a puppy, sometimes.
"He more or less just woke my back up, it hurt but it was tolerable." I told him.
He frowned softly but nodded, taking my hand then kissed my knuckles.
"I wanted to punch him in the face." He confessed.
I laughed softly.
"He's only doing his job, Cain." I said.
He made a face.
"I can't help it, you kept whining and crying over there. My fists were itching to hit that guy." He said.
I lied there.
"You'll just have to restrain yourself, Cain. This was my mess up, its my punishment. So now I have to deal with the consequences." I said with a soft shrug.
Cain frowned now.
"Well that creeps rotting in prison now, apparently they found fourteen boys locked up in a room, abused and frightened, some were even younger than you." He told me.
My brows knitted.
"That's horrifying." I murmured.
Cain frowned.
"It is, that's why I'm glad we rushed to get you, because that could of been you in that room with them. All locked up, skin and bone. Only wanting their parents." He said kissing my wrist.
I blushed softly.
"At least those boys got out safely then, I can't believe I was so naive into thinking, Dominic would be different.. that he'd be a normal guy.. instead, he was a monster in a suit." I brought my forearm over my eyes.
"I'm such an idiot." I cried now.
"You're not an id-"
"No!" I looked at him with knitted brows.
"If I had listened to you and Jeremy, by not going to Miami.. If I had just told you I liked you at the bar, I wouldn't of gone, met that sad old lady and got myself trapped in the most pitiful way." Tears fell as I lied there.
"I was so excited for that short amount of time, I really thought that would of been a fun weekend. But instead, it was a nightmare. I was drugged and Dominic tried to sell me as a sex slave." My face burned.
"They called me a twink, and it sounded so much worse when everyone was looking at me, if Dominic hadn't called out a higher number, someone would of taken me and I probably would of ended up dead." I cried.
"And to make it worse, he beat me for ever with his belt and then.." Tears fell fast.
"Shh, stop." Cain kissed my cheek then forehead.
"Its all in the past, you're here and he'll never touch you again." He promised.
I frowned deeply as tears fell.
Cain climbed into the bed now, carefully holding me.
"No one will touch you ever again, only I will in time." He said kissing my temple.
I nodded smiling softly.
"That sounds good." I agreed with the other.
He smiled as I drifted off into sleep.
Dreaming of the day, I'd be able to walk again.
