My head was pounding.
I didn't want to leave my bed.
I wanted to sleep and avoid the sunlight.
But as loud as everyone was being downstairs.
...
I don't think its happening.
"Angel, up and at em sunshine!" Mom banged on my door as I winced trying to ignore the sound.
I didn't even drink that much!
So why the flying fuck did I have a hangover?
Grumbling, I walked out of the bedroom in my pj's frowning as I rubbed my eyes.
"Morning pumpkin, hows the headache?" Mom asked handing me some pills and water.
Immediately taking them, I frowned at her.
"Its pounding, but it'll pass." I forced a smile.
Andrew didn't look any better.
He was slumped on the couch.
Our nephew and niece bouncing on the ends, like it was a game.
He was having it a lot worse than me.
Rip Andy.
"What time is the wedding?" I asked getting out the milk.
Amy walked in, her hair done up in hair pins.
"Two pm." She said walking over to her soon to be husband, nudging him to get up.
He groaned in response but managed to get up, regardless of how bad his head hurt.
He looked to me giving off a dorky smile.
"Did ya have fun last night, kid?" He asked moving towards the bathroom.
I gave him a thumbs up, trying to drink my milk but stopped at the sound of him vomiting.
Valerie rolled her eyes, smiling at Amy.
"Thankfully, us girls had a much more calm and relaxing night." She said now.
I sighed.
"Maybe I should of gone with you guys." I said.
"HOW DARE YOU!" Andrew yelled before vomiting again.
We all made a face before Amy smiled my way.
"Soon enough, I'll be apart of the Clark household." She smiled.
Mom walked over to her.
"You've always been family, Amy. The only thing changing, is your last name." She smiled.
Amy nodded with a smile.
"Andy, I'm making toast. Want some?" I asked the guy who had basically adopted the bathroom as his new home.
"Y-Yeah, please and thanks bunches." He said groaning before flushing the toilet.
Amy pulled me aside.
"How much did he drink?" She asked worried.
I smiled softly.
"Enough to make him forget who he was, but he's fine Amy." I told her.
She nodded before grinning.
"What about you though? Did you meet anyone?" She asked catching Valerie's attention.
Who walked over to us, smiling.
Blushing harder than I thought I would, I nodded.
Which earned soft squeals from them.
"Who? Tell us the details." Amy said.
I smirked at them.
"Well, his name was Joel but we're going to just be friends. Because I'm moving back on Sunday." I explained.
Valerie arched a brow.
"Just going to be friends?" She smirked as I looked to her.
"We kissed, well. He kissed me, more like a make out actually." I said trying to make it sound less confusing now.
"Wow, look at you go. Was he cute?" Amy asked.
I shrugged smiling.
"Your typical brunette with green eyes, he was pretty built." I told them.
It felt like girl talk.
Except, I was a guy.
So.
This was weird.
"Wow, too bad you two didn't even try to hit it off more than friends. I would of liked to meet him." Amy said now.
I blinked pulling out my phone.
"I..I can invite him to the wedding..?"
"YES!" Amy said smiling at me.
"I want to meet this Joel guy, see if he would of been a cute partner for you." She said.
Blushing I went to his number, immediately messaging the other.
[Angel]: Hey, sorry this is sort of weird and sudden. I don't even know if you remember me, but its Angel.
Within seconds, he was messaging back.
[Joel]: Wow, and here I was thinking you'd blow me off. Hey there!
I grinned as the girls watched, which was weird.
[Angel]: So.. I know this is weird, but my brother and sister n law are getting married today.. and well, she wants to meet you? Do you have plans today?
[Joel]: Nope, you caught me on my off day. But sure, I enjoy meeting strangers after sobering up.
I smirked softly.
[Angel]: Alright, here's the address and its going to be at 2.
I sent the address right after the message.
[Joel]: Got it, the church is actually not too far from me. So I'll see you soon, Angel ;) nice to know we can hang out before you leave.
I gave off a sad smile.
[Angel]: Yeah, same. See you soon, Joel.
I looked to Amy.
"Is this really okay? I feel like your wedding is being intruded by people you don't know." I told her.
Amy shrugged.
"Its fine, Angel. Plus, I'd like to meet more of your friends before you leave, also it makes the wedding more exciting. The more people, the better." She grinned.
I looked to Valerie who smiled.
"She's right." She told me.
I frowned now but nodded.
~~~~~
There was exactly one hour before the wedding, and even though I wasn't the one getting married.
I was going to be the best man, and a lot of attention would be on me.
Jeremy and the girls had showed up earlier at the church, and instead of it being inside.
We were doing it outside, even though it looked like it was fixing to fall a flood here.
Thankfully the bride and groom haven't stepped outside.
Because I'm sure they'd both panic.
I was adjusting my tie in the mirror as Jeremy walked in.
"Don't you look handsome in the fancy suit." He smirked with crossed arms.
I blushed but smirked back.
"Don't mention the suit anymore than you have too." I told him.
He rose his hands in defense.
[Joel]: Hey, I'm here. Where are you?
"Oh, Joel's here." I said leaving the room.
"Who?" Jeremy questioned confused.
He followed after me as I walked outside.
And at this point, I kind of wished I wasn't moving back.
Because he looked insanely cute.
He was wearing a black and white suit, with his messy brown hair pushed back.
He gave off a dimpled smile now.
"Wow." We said in unison.
Joel walked up the stairs.
"You look even better than from last night." He pointed out.
"I'm sorry, what?" Jeremy questioned almost sounding jealous.
I turned to him.
"Jeremy, this is Joel. We became bar buddies last night."
"It could of been more, if you weren't moving away." He said with a shrug.
I smirked as Jeremy glared.
"So you invited a perfect stranger to your brothers wedding?" He asked.
I blinked with knitted brows.
"Jerri, you're a stranger to Andrew. Plus, Amy wanted me to invite him." I told him, ignoring how hurt he looked.
"So where is this bride to be?" Joel questioned looking around.
"In the changing room, you'll have to meet her after the wedding." I told him now.
He pouted.
"A girl I don't even know, invites me to a wedding and I have to wait to meet her. Bummer." He sighed but I smiled.
"Come on, I'll introduce you to everyone else." I said walking past Jeremy who stood there, glaring harshly at the stairs.
~~~~
"So you two made out and now your best friends?" Keisha asked with a smirk, sitting outside where the family was.
I blushed as Joel smirked at her.
"That's kind of what happened, cutie here had to break my heart since you guys are moving back in a few days." He said.
Kimmy smiled softly.
"I mean, you're always free to visit." She told him.
Joel blinked.
"I'm not too huge on flying, or driving.. I'm not too huge on anything actually, I'm pretty fucking lazy." He confessed with no shame.
I shook my head grinning at him.
"We'll have to get you out there, somehow." I told him.
Joel tilted his head, grinning at me.
"I'm sure you'd like me to visit." He teased as I blushed.
Keisha began to fan herself.
"Look at Mr.SmoothTalker, I bet you use that line on all of the cute guys." She grinned at him.
Joel shrugged.
"Only those worth my time, and Angel over here is definitely worth it." He said smirking at me.
I honestly don't know if I could get any redder than that.
~~~~
Within an hour, it was finally time for everyone to find their seats.
I stood in the front, next to Andrew and Kyle.
We all waited for Amy and her grandfather to walk her out.
I looked to Andrew.
"Are you nervous?" I asked him.
He smirked softly.
"Nervous is an understatement, Angel. I haven't stopped shaking since I got here." He told me.
Kyle rolled his eyes.
"You're going to be fine, just don't drop the rings." He teased as Andrew's cheeks turned light pink.
Soon enough, the music began to play and everyone stood up.
"Not sure if you know this
But when we first met
I got so nervous
I couldn't speak
In that very moment I found the one and
My life had found its missing piece."
Usually, when the bride walks out.
Everyone's attention falls on her.
But my eyes fell on Andrew.
His eyes held so much love, they sparkled at the sight of her.
He looked lost for words he could not say.
Amy walked out in her beautiful wedding dress, her arm locked with her grandfathers.
She smiled brightly as everyone began to get teary eyed at the sight of her.
"So as long as I live I love you
Will have and hold you
You look so beautiful in white
And from now 'til my very last breath
This day I'll cherish
You look so beautiful in white
Tonight."
Amy's grandfather gave her one finally hug, before handing her off to Andrew who smiled softly at her.
Tears were already falling down her cheeks, as she smiled brightly back at him.
"What we have is timeless
My love is endless
And with this ring I
Say to the world
You're my every reason
You're all that I believe in
With all my heart I mean every word
So as long as I live I love you
Will haven and hold you
You look so beautiful in white
And from now 'til my very last breath
This day I'll cherish
You look so beautiful in white
Tonight."
Everyone took a seat as the preacher stood there, smiling proudly.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the presence of these witnesses, to join Andrew Clark and Amy Wolf in matrimony..."
I stood next to Andrew, listening as he told Amy his vows and soon enough.
She did the same, their eyes never leaving each other.
"Now, if the best man will hand the groom the wedding rings." The preacher said.
Handing my brother his rings.
He smiled at me for a moment before turning back to his wife.
"I, Andrew give you Amy this ring," he took her left hand.
Sliding the silver band around her ring finger, smiling softly.
"As an eternal symbol of my love and commitment, to you." He said to her.
Tears fell down her cheeks as she smiled, taking Andrew's left hand now.
"I, Amy give you Andrew, this ring." She held his hand, sliding the silver band around his finger.
"As an eternal symbol of my love and commitment, to you." She smiled at him.
The preacher smiled stepping back.
"By the power vested in me by the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife." He announced as everyone cheered, watching Andrew and Amy kissing.
The preacher stepped forward now.
"I present to you, Mr. and Mrs.Clark!" He said as everyone clapped, whistled and cheered.
I patted my brother on the back before joining the crowd.
And if on cue, the thunder roared above us.
Small sprinkles starting to fall.
Amy looked up at the sky, before her eyes fell on Andrew.
"I love you." She told him.
"I love you too." He said pressing his lips to her.
~~~~
"Who all wants a slice?" Andrew asked inside of the church now."
Everyone began to form a line as I walked Joel over to meet Amy.
"Hello ma'am, thank you for inviting me to your wedding." Joel said smiling at her.
Amy grinned at him.
"Thank you for coming, I told Angel I had to meet you before he left." She told him.
Joel smirked softly.
"Its rather unfortunate news." He said.
She smiled, her eyes falling on me, but they looked past me in confusion.
"Who is that?" She asked.
I turned and felt my stomach knot up.
Cain stood at the entrance of the doors.
Completely soaked with his hair stuck to the sides of his face.
Everyone's attention was on him now.
"Bad company?" Joel questioned.
I frowned shaking my head.
"No.." I left their side as Jeremy looked to me.
"Did you invite him?" He asked me.
I shook my head walking over to him.
"Cain..?"
"I had to find you." He said sounding like he had just ran a marathon.
I frowned at him.
"This couldn't of waited? We're at my brothers wedding." I said frowning at him.
His brows knitted before letting out a sigh.
"I know where we're at, he invited me." He told me.
My eyes grew wide turning to Andrew who turned his attention back to the cake, ignoring my gaze.
I looked back to Cain.
"Well, why are you here?" I asked him.
He frowned.
"Angel, I messed up. I mean, I really seriously messed up." He said running a hand through his wet hair.
I bit my lip as he looked at me.
"I hurt you and I've hated myself ever since that day, I know this is the worst possible time to talk to you. But when Andrew called me, telling me to get here. I had to come." He took my hand and as I much as I wanted to pull away, I stayed still.
"I had to see you." He frowned at me.
"You talked a lot last time we spoke, and it wasn't on good terms either." He used his free hand to rub the side of his neck.
"But I hate myself even now, because you were the last person in existence who I'd ever want to hurt, and because of my selfish needs. I put myself first and thought of you last, I was blinded by anger and no real excuses can make up for that." He squeezed my hand frowning.
"Oh, romance drama. I get it." Joel whispered earning a nudge to the side from Amy.
I looked at him with knitted brows.
"Cain.. I-"
"Just," he exhaled slowly.
"Listen okay?" He cupped my cheek, caressing me as he smiled softly.
"I am in love with you, Angel Clark." He told me.
My eyes grew wide as the tears appeared.
He held my hand, smiling softly.
"I fell in love the moment we kissed in that hospital room, the first thought that came to mind was, why me? Why was Angel Clark so interested in a college student who worked at a bar." He smiled softly.
"But that thought vanished, because I just wanted to hold you, and because I was such an idiot. I ruined all of that in an instant, I hurt you and I am so very sorry Angel."
I felt my blood run cold as he fell to his knees, holding my hands as he kept his head bowed.
"I was such a huge ass and I lost you," he looked up teary eyed.
"And no matter how much I tried to forget the idea of us, I just couldn't." He let out a soft but broken laugh.
"I love you too much to let you go." He told me.
I stood there as tears fell.
Talk about real bad timing.
Falling to my knees as well.
"You're right," I lifted his head up as he looked at me.
"You messed up, real bad." I frowned at him.
"But only an idiot who is still in love with someone, after a break up. Would fly several states, to come here and try to get that person back." I told him.
He tilted his head but froze as my lips pressed to his.
"I love you too." I told him.
His eyes grew wide, kissing me again, holding me tight.
"I guess that makes me a big idiot." He smirked softly.
Blushing softly, my forehead rested against his.
"I guess it does." I said looking at our laced fingers.
Cain was for me.
Not Jeremy.
Or Joel.
But Cain.
For someone to come all the way here, just to tell someone how much they messed up and still loved them, was a real keeper.
In my opinion.
I missed him so much.
It hurt.
And now he was here.
In my arms.
Hugging me back.
This was right.
And I was happy.
