"Pick up, pick up, pick up." I said to myself as I walk home. Click, someone has finally picked up.
"Luke, hey what's up?" Her voice was uneven.
"Nothing, I just.....I can't go home right now. I need someone to talk to." I said my voice cracking. The line was silent, No one spoke and I got the feeling she had hung up. Then I heard a crackling noise.
"Meet me over by the lake, it's a little farther down from the school. See you there in about 15?" I swear I could her grin from across the line.
"Sure, 15 minutes. See you then smartly pants." I hung up and made my way to the lake.

Lauren was sitting at the bay, throwing rocks in the water. I kept up behind her and screamed boo, in her ear. She jumped up and hit me playfully on the arm.
"Thanks for meeting me here." I said sitting down next to her.
"No problem, is why did you decide to call me?" She sounded like she was playing around, but I could tell that she wasn't.
"I just can't talk about it, I'm sorry." I picked up a rock and through it into the lake. The plop made a ripple that cast color across Lauren's face, then did I realize that she was truly magnificent.
"Okay, I understand. If you don't want to talk about it you don't want to talk about it." Her gaze was directly at the water, I looked down at her hands and saw smudges of ink and lead from a pencil.
"So..... what do you want to do?" She asked.
"We could finish that duet. I know I don't have a guitar with me but, we could still sing." I met her eyes and a smirk came across her face, along with a slight chuckle.
"Okay, where were we? Oh right, I remember the day you told me you were leaving.
I refer the make-up running down your face"
My turn, "And the dreams you left behind you didn't need them.
Like every single wish we'd ever made."
"I wish that I could wake up with amnesia, and forget about the stupid little things. Like the way it felt to fall asleep next to you
And the memories i never can escape. 'Cause I'm not fine at all." We stopped singing, but instead we were getting closer and closer to each other.
The smell of pumpkins and apple's was pouring out of Lauren. We locked eyes and I saw a spark on her eyes, that I could never possibly forget.
Ooh things are going to get real, sorry if this was short.
Yay for a Luke chapter!
