Please don't come in here. Please don't come in here. I begged to myself. I just shoved Lauren out the door so she won't be seen by my horrible father, and now I don't know what to do for myself. I can't leave the house now that he's here.

My bedroom door flew open and hit the wall leaving a crater sized hole in the wall. I flinched at the rough noise. My father stepped forward, behind him I saw a skinny woman maybe about 29-30 leaning on the wall. Her pupils slit and darting around the house. He's been out drinking and it's not a good thing.

"Lucas Hemmings. Clean your room up now or I'll beat you." The stench of alcohol and smoke flooded out of his mouth and into my lungs. I coughed and waved a hand in front of my face.

"No." I coughed out. "It's fine." My father's eyes narrowed and his eyebrows furrowed together. He got closer and the stench got stronger. "What did you just say?" I looked him straight in the eyes and said, "I said no."  His hand smacked my face and and stomach, causing me to gulp for air. He walked out laughing and stumbling into his room with the drunken woman.

I crawled on to the floor, clutching my stomach and gasping for air. Nothing can in and my eyes slowly lost focus. I forced my self to focus on the image of Lauren flickering in my mind. Her smile, her laugh, her. Air came in and I evened out my breathing.

I looked at my dad's room and shook my head. I could here him and the woman doing something that I didn't want to hear. I popped open my window and slid out the door. My feet hit the pavement and I almost stumbled over. I texted Calum, Ashton, and Michael telling them to all meet at Cal's place.

A few moments later my phone buzzed and they all agreed to go over, well except for Calum he lives there. I walked down there still humming the song Lauren and I had just sang.

I knocked on Cal's door and I swung open with Michael standing there with root beer bottle in his hand. "Finally, Luke you took forever." Michael teased. I laughed and stepped inside. Calum's house was was light shade of green with a darker green for the out line. A chandelier hung above the dining room table.

Calum and Ashton sat on the couch watching T.V. I sat on the other and pulled out my phone. 4: 50, Lauren was over for an hour. "Are you texting Lauren?" Ashton asked.

"No, she's probably practicing her cello." I said sliding my phone into my front pocket. Ashton looked at me and smiled.

"A cellist. Nice, is she any good?" He ask tilting his head. I laughed and shook my head yes.

"We should have a party." Michael said. " To celebrate getting back from our tour."

"When? We all have school and homework." Calum jumped in.

"Yeah, but we can have this weekend. Invite some friends from school." Michael suggested. "And, Luke can bring Lauren." I smirk sprawled across his face and chuckled.

"Fine this weekend, and I'll bring Lauren. Calum does your mom still have that cello? The one she bought from that auction?" I asked.

"Yeah. You gonna convince Lauren to play a song?"

"No, we're going to convince her. All of us can do a song together." I said. They all went speechless and then my phone rang.
