unlike popular opinions, self care doesn't always look like reading poetry in a park, having warm showers, getting massages, writing in journals, going on a solo dinners. sometimes, self care is saying no to situations and people that take your energy away. it is studying hard for that test and scoring well. it is sleeping early at night. it is cleaning your wardrobe, doing your laundry. it is calling up your mother to tell her that you've been doing okay. it is about little things. sometimes, reality intervenes and puts more on your plate than you can digest. that's okay. let's take one thing at a time, one assignment at a time, one person at a time, one task at a time.
