I hope you're doing well. ❤️

So, today, I wanted to talk about dreams. I've always been a dreamer. I dream about so many things every single day that it surprises me too. But, somehow, I always feel so far away from them. They're always close yet they're not. Does that make sense?

I've a dream of writing a lot and helping people with my words

I've a dream of writing a lot and helping people with my words. That's my dream. And then there are secondary dreams too. You know the dreams that are dreams but not really THE dream. They include creating art, painting, journalling, blogging, cooking and so much more.

I get so excited when I sit down to plan. I make to-do lists. I give myself deadlines, challenges. I looveeeeee 'planning about being productive. It gives me an addicting high. I think I can safely say that I am addicted to think about being productive.

However, here comes the difficult part.

I cannot, for the love of God, be productive. Yes, the to-do lists are waiting to be ticked. But days roll by and I end up doing nothing.

The interesting part is all those things I mentioned are things that I absolutely enjoy doing. They give me pure joy. So, it would make me wonder that why I am not doing things that make me happy. After some deep thinking, there are a few things that, I think, stop me from doing them.

1. Distractions and Delusions.
One of the worst part of this generation is that we've got way too many distractions. There are so many moments when I'd get an idea for a short story, or a poem, or an update on this book but I'd rather scroll miles on my Instagram feed or watch some not-so-funny YouTube videos. Our minds always need instant validation. Social media and those tiny boosts of validation - through likes, comments or just a new video from your favourite YouTuber - fools your mind into thinking that it has achieved something substantial. It drives me crazy when I check how much I spend a day on Instagram or YouTube or just the Internet.
