Thor finally arrives
Loki had seen what the Secretary was going to do with the Tesseract. The man above Nick Fury, the leader of SHIELD, wanted to bring Tony Stark, Vision, Agent Romanoff, and Captain America back using the Tesseract's time and space abilities. That's what mission Matthew was on. Mission Rerun. But that wasn't exactly what he had been bothered about.
"WHAT ABOUT ME?" he wailed. "I fought against Thanos and you don't even want to rescue me? I can't believe you disgusting, pathetic, mueling, ignorant-"
The door burst open and guards spilled in. They pointed their guns at Loki, but didn't shoot, since he wasn't even near the Secretary and was only pacing up and down the room, ranting.
"Did you even think about the possibilities? By bringing some of these people you call heroes back, you could bring enemies back as well! Why do you even want to bring them back anyway? You're crazy, you're all crazy," Loki went on. Finally, seeming to notice the guns pointed at him, he sighed.
"I'm going to have to burn you all to the ground, aren't I. Or you're going to bring Thanos back and he'll kill me- I mean many innocent people," Loki said nobly.
At this conclusion to his speech, the guards opened fire, but Loki had already changed Aspect into Wildfire. He flew at the Secretary, but the guards got in the way and the Secretary disappeared behind a hidden door.
Someone yelled for the fire extinguisher, which wasn't good, so Loki sped out of the room and towards the basement.
"He's heading for the explosives!" the guard who had yelled for the fire extinguisher, the head guard, yelled.
"I didn't know there were explosives in the basement," Loki muttered. "But now that you mention it, that's a good idea."
Loki burnt straight through the floor, straight through ever layer, burning a lot of his glam as he did, until he reached a certain room that exploded as soon as he touched it. There was a lot of fire. It was everywhere at once and it felt like Loki was finally home. Like he was wrapped with an enormous hug and he could finally relax. He was no longer lonely, no longer scared, no longer hating himself every day... it was like he was back in the midst of chaos, with his real father, Surt (if you read The Gospel of Loki by Joann M. Harris or Norse Mythology by Neil Gaemen, you would understand).
Then the fire grew uncomfortable as it grew from wildfire to hellfire. Loki sighed and made his way, blindly, through the flames until he emerged out the other end of the exploded building. He knew where the Tesseract was, it was in that very building. He let the pull of power lure him to a pile of ash in the center of the imploded building.
All around him, he heard screams of pain and horror. He saw a man with no legs, they had been exploded off. He saw a young woman on fire. She was screaming and trying to roll, but the fire was a chemical fire and the chemical was on her clothes. She screamed and screamed and screamed.
Loki approached the Tesseract reverently. He transformed back into his human form and walked through the flames towards it. His battle uniform melted, leaving him naked and covered in ash, his black hair blowing around with the flickering of the flames. His eyes were glowing and a small grin pulled at the corner of his lips.
Loki bent down and picked up the Tesseract. It seemed to vibrate in his hands. He shivered with the power that he felt flow through him, even with the stone covered with a cube. No one had seen him take the Tesseract, besides the burning young woman, who had just died, and Loki walked out of the flames with the Tesseract hidden away with magic.
Loki summoned clothes and they appeared on his body, though he was still covered in ash and his clothes quickly turned dark and ash-filled. He was a hot mess.
Just as he was stepping over the woman's burnt corpse, he felt something.
"Oh, shit," he cursed.
"LOKIIIIIII!!!!!!" a deep man's voice screamed.
The sky lit up, and not with fire. Lightening flashed in the sky and it started to downpour, drenching Loki to the bone. Now he was a cold, wet, and shivering mess. The fire started going out.
"LOKIIIIII!!!!!!!" Thor yelled again.
And then Thor was in front of Loki. Mjulner in his hand, rage in his eyes. A path from Loki to Thor appeared in the rain, and Loki was no longer being down poured upon.
Then Thor was running at Loki. Loki, panicking, started to run away, trying to turn into fire, but it was so wet, that he couldn't. That, and he was tired. Tired to the bone.
He whirled around and Thor caught him head on. Loki flinched, expecting a death blow with mjuner. He squeezed his eyes shut, waiting for the inevitable smash into his brains.
"Well, this will be an unattractive way to die," he thought to himself before feeling Thor's blow.
But it wasn't mjuner. It was a hug.
