Joe accompanied iris back to her hotel room, he was clearly tired, but stayed up to talk to iris. It was always like that since they met. Iris would stay up for hours editing photos she took or reading before joe asked her why she stayed up late. Her response was that she was used to staying up late, like in her high school days. She would be given essays to write, which resulted in staying up late to finish them.

"You need sleep. I'll be here in the morning. My flight leaves at three." Iris said and opened her bedroom door.

"I'm coming back here in a few hours. I need to see you before you leave." Joe whispered. "That talk we had didn't feel like a talk at all. I don't want to leave it like that."

Iris nodded at his words. "We will talk when you get some sleep. I'm worried about you. And I feel that I'm the one that caused you the lack of sleep."

And with that, iris went inside the room and closed the door. She didn't even bother to say goodnight to joe.

"I'll see you in a few hours." Joe said and walked towards the elevators.

On the otherside of the door, iris slid down to the ground, her back pressed against the wooden door. She buried her face into her arms and silently cried. She hated the way she made joe feel. She blamed herself for every feeling joe had. Especially if he was feeling mad.

None of it seemed fair. Joe deserved someone that wanted to get married. Sure iris did want that, but she didn't feel ready for any of it. The constant stress of trying to get everything to be perfect for one day didn't seem like something she wanted. The thought of making a wedding perfect seemed easy, but the actual doing was far from that. Iris experienced planning a wedding when her aunt eve got married to her third husband and then a couple months later she did it again when eve married her fourth and last husband.

The whole process made iris want to slam her head repeatedly on a door.

When she first saw joe, her drunken self declared that he was the man she was destined to marry. She wondered if any of it was actually true.
