Amity

POSSIBLE TW!!!

You're friends all stand to watch you
You walk across the stage
You hear their shouts of glee
But happiness turns to rage

You see his face among them
You watch as he just smirks
You fix your hair under his gaze
Trying to hide all your quirks

You two used to have amity
You both never fought
You then saw his true colors
Then you could not be bought

You never told your friends
You were worried they would take sides
You had no idea how they would react
So, with them, he never chides

You cried and ate your heart out
You watched as he just laughed
You never felt the same again
But he continued with his craft

You accept your award
You hurry back
You watch as he thinks
He's forming a plan of attack

You hide backstage
You calm yourself down
You eat from your basket
But then you start to drown

You drown in emotions
You drown in your food
You drown until a knock is heard
And your response is completely crude

You slam the door open
You spit in his face
You stomp on his toes
And you wish you had a mace

Your mind starts to race
You think a million miles a minute
You start having flashbacks
And suddenly everything is mute

Your anger deafened your hearing
Your anger blinded your eyes
You realize what was once amity
Has finally broken to lies

You swing your fists
You break his nose
You try to hurt him
And that's how it goes

You think about his crime
You think you should come clean
You think he's a giant cretin
Then your friends started to lean

They chose your side
After what he did
All of you agree
You should never kid

Not about this
Not about him
Not what he did
You agreed off a whim

What he did was awful
He gave you a trigger
Now any time you hear a story
Your face starts to configure

He hurt you so bad
Nobody should do that
But that's what we live in
You now have to live with that
