The Man with a Plan

The once was a boy
With only a ploy
To make the whole world
Fall on their knees

He faked his smile
It worked for a while
As he also fabricated
Sincerity and apologies

His head held high
He felt himself fly
Above the supposed
Inferior humans

He watched over our heads
Watched as we made our beds
Not even considering
He had to lie in his own

His eyes filled with power
He watched as we cower
From famine and illness
He thought he was safe

As a plague spread the region
Unprotected by legion
So many had lost
Their loved ones, their life

He watched as we fell
He watched us all sell
Our region and land
Our property and values

But, finally, what befell
This creature from Hell
The plague we had spread
He finally caught ill

He coughed and sneezed
He awfully wheeled
He got sicker and sicker
And had his just desserts

He died and we smiled
His everything styled
His funeral a blow
Nobody attended

There once was a man
Who failed at his plan
To make the whole world
Fall at his feet
