Today's Thursday. I haven't talked to dad yesterday. I'm not mad but I feel like I need to unwind and focus on something else.

Kyla approached me today at the cafeteria saying that he noticed how weary I am lately and I wasn't giving attention to class. Well, I can't deny that. She invited me to come with her and cut class this afternoon and said that I could invite someone if I want to. I invited Grace and she never hesitated.

We walk around the mall near our campus, and decided to watched a movie, it was a superhero movie, not my type but I did enjoyed it, all movies are worth watching though just that some movies don't fit our tastes. After that, Kyla bought some books at the bookstore, I bought one. It's a detective type of a book. I don't really need one, but I like the cover so I bought it, since it's also on sale then I have reasons to buy this book. Grace bought two books, said it's part of a series she is currently reading.

"That two books are the same" I said to her.

"Yes, actually this one is for my friend's birthday and this one is mine." Referring to the book she's holding on both hands.

"Ok" I replied. I'm never interested on books and I hate reading.

At five, Kyla invited us to come over at her house and take dinner with the her family. At first we hesitated saying that both Grace and I should come home early since Grace's dad is strict with his curfew.

"No, it's okay! We'll take some dinner and you can go home after, just let me invite the two of you ok?"

"Uh-ok" I said, I looked at Grace who's standing beside me and she's smiling at me. Wait, why is she smiling at me?

We took a taxi to Kyla's house and still on our school uniforms.

We were surprised as we approached Kyla's house. I looked at Grace's, she doesn't seemed surprise. I guess I'm the one who is surprised her. There were lots of people outside her house.

I saw students wearing uniforms from a different school and I recognized it. It's the same as Grace's. I looked at her as she stands beside me. The taxi drove away. Kyla waves her hands in front of us and says that we should come inside.

I'm confused at that time.

Just before we could step in on the threshold, Kyla turned to us and said "Actually, today is my sister's birthday! That's why I invited you to come over." We proceeded inside and greeted her parents.

Her younger sister approached her and welcomed us. She jumped as she saw Grace besides me.

They know each other.
They're classmates.
They're friends.
And I'm an outcast.
I don't belong.
Why am I so negative about myself?

"Hi, I'm Kyllie." Introduces herself to me as she offers her hand for a handshake.

"Luke." I replied as I shake her hands.

Kyla opened her bag and gets one book and presented it to her sister.

"Oh eto gift ko sayo, alam kong gusto mo talagang bilhin yang book na yan, nagpaparinig ka pa sa Facebook na malapit na birthday mo. Ayan ako na mismo bumili para sayo. At dahil love ka ni ate, may extra book pa ako na binili sayo." Sabay kinuha ang dalawang libro sa loob ng bag niya at inabot sa kapatid.

"Thank you po" Tuwang-tuwa ito habang niyayakap ang libro na bigay ng kapatid niya.

"Hi Kyllie, happy birthday." Grace hugged her tightly and I could see that they're really close.

"Buti naman at pumunta ka." Kyllie answered here.

"Actually pupunta talaga, I never thought na invited rin pala si Luke kaya sabay na lang kami."

"Ako na mismo nag-invite ni Luke" sagot ni Kyla kay Grace "Alam  ko kasing friend kayo ng kapatid ko at friend din kayo ni Luke. So I invited him over. Tapos lutang pa itong si Luke kaninang umaga. I said to him that she could invite someone baka kasi pag dinala ko siya dito sa bahay, baka isipin ng mga magulang ko na boyfriend ko sya. Hmp hindi kami bagay tsaka may Karlo na ako sa life ko." Kinilig ito habang nagsasalita. " So ayun di ko alam na ikaw pala ininvite ni Luke" sabi nya kay Grace.

"Oo nga, kaya nung pagkasabi ni Luke na baka raw gusto kong sumama sa inyong dalawa, eh nag yes agad ako. Alam ko naman na sa birthday pa rin ito tutungo." Sagot ni Grace. " Nga pala Kyllie, I have a gift for you" tuwang-tuwa ito habang inaabot ang book na binili nya kanina sa bookstore. Sya pala yung friend na tinutukoy nyang reregaluhan nya sa birthday nito and I never thought that today was her friend's birthday and I'm so dumb broke cause I have no gift to present to her.

Nagpasalamat ng wagas si Kyllie kay Grace at niyakap ito ng mahigpit. Girls act widely when they're so happy.

"Uhm eh.." I scratched my head and slightly bowed down my head to the left kasi wala akong pangregalo, malay ko ba na sa birthday kami hahangtong.

"No worries, just enjoy the night. Alam kong gutom na kayo kaya kain na tayo." Sabi ni Kyllie.

"No, actually I have a gift for you." I stopped her as I grab the book inside my bag and give it to her. She was surprised, so surprised I could see both of her eyes widened as she looked at the book on my hand.

"OH. MY. GOD! How'd you know my favorite author?!" She recieved it as she jumped in amusement. " Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She hugged me.

Ey.

I didn't hug her back.

It was the detective book I just bought earlier, guess I don't really need that book and someone needed it.

She let go after tightly hugging me. I was squeezed.

She couldn't let go of her smile as we walked towards the table in the dining area. There were lots of assorted foods. We took our time eating and talking with each other. I had a happy night.
