The scare of going into labour early made my whole household realize we needed to start buying stuff for this baby. I had a baby shower planned at the speakeasy the weekend after graduation. This time we were keeping it small. I had some money saved up so Betty ordered a lot of stuff online. She went to school and I layed downstairs on the couch and peed every ten minutes. I didn't have any makeup work because we weren't doing anything the last week of school. When the stuff Betty ordered finally came in I had to leave it by the door because I wasn't supposed to do any heavy lifting. I was a little excited when Archie and came to help me set up everything. Betty was planning the baby shower with Veronica. Archie carried everything upstairs and I managed to struggle my way up the stairs out of breath when I was finally there. Though I had went into preterm labour the baby still hadn't dropped and it restricted breathing easily. I eased myself down in the floor and went though a box on onesies. Archie was setting up the little drawers for the babies closes. I wasn't even halfway done with the box and he had both sets of the drawers set up and was already working on the crib. "Archie are you gonna slow down and savor the moments where you're supposed to be cussing and throwing stuff around?" Archie laughed," This is actually really easy for me," he said with a smile. When I had that box of clothes sorted Archie was almost done with the crib. I started on another box. "You excited about graduation Jug?" "Not really, I'm already exhausted cause I can't sleep well at all, so a day of stress, walking, and social interaction sounds perfect." Archie laughed," You're handling this really well." "Well, I've been in the hospital three times," I said yawning. "I would've probably tried running away or of given up at this point." I shrugged," What can I say, pregnancy just comes natural to me." We both died of laughter. I picked up a pair of baby shoes," Okay so I understand the point of having socks for newborn babies, but shoes like they can't even walk what the heck." Archie shrugged," Beats me." Archie finished the rocking chair, about the time I was done sorting laundry which was now scattered all over the floor. Archie had stood up and was waiting for me, after trying to heave myself up twice I realized I just didn't have the body strength to do it. I put my hand up for him to help me with a look of embarrassment and he helped me up with ease. I sat in the rocking chair as he moved stuff around to how I wanted it, and he picked all the laundry off of the floor and put it in my designated places. We stayed in the nursery talking for a bit till Betty came up with some food from pops. She handed me a chocolate milkshake and a burger, Archie a burger and what I assumed was a strawberry milkshake, and she had a burger with a vanilla milkshake. They sat in the floor and I moved down with them and we all talked to each other hanging just enjoying each other company. Till Jellybean and dad came in and Betty gave them the leftover burgers and I assume they ate downstairs.
