Part 31

It all came crashing down hill, though.

Everyone was too engrossed in their own conversations to worry about Theo.

No one looked the poor chimera in the eye. Not even Lydia, since she was so caught up with Allison, after not seeing her for a few days.

The only people who had this kind of affect on him were the McCall Pack, for all he has ever wanted them to do was accept him. They couldn't, and so Theo was left with so many different emotions.

It was like he had a humanity switch, and every time the pack ignored him, hurt him, he'd turn it off for a little while. He couldn't feel anything, not anymore.

Theo thinks that people won't understand what he's going through. He's scared to tell people how he feels because he thinks they'll say he's overreacting. But nothing is worse than what he's been through, so they would never understand anyway. That's why he keeps himself to himself, doesn't tell anyone how he feels.

That was until he found Lydia, Liam and Derek. They were able to break his walls down, bit by bit. They were the first ones that ever saw the infamous Theo Raeken cry.

Most of the time, when Theo doesn't know how to deal with his emotions, he just cries. He has this problem, where he feels too many different things in one period of time, and it's like he just bursts.

He cries at times like these.

But he couldn't cry in front of the pack, he couldn't seem weak. He had to keep his walls held high around them, for he knew that they didn't trust him, and so he refused to trust them in return.

He had flipped the switch, and now he forced himself to lock his emotions away. Once again, he felt empty. He didn't deserve to feel emotions anyway.

Theo hadn't said a word since the hug with Mason and Corey in the hallway. It worried Derek and Liam, and they would constantly look at each other, as if to try and understand what was going on with him.

They didn't understand, they never would.

There were multiple times where the two werewolves would notice Theo's eyes glaze over, as if he was about to cry. But Theo would shake his head, pushing the tears away. He'd then look back up, around the room, at the group, with a fake smile on his face.

They didn't think much of it, of course. This was Theo Raeken, and they knew that he had his own demons to deal with, so they left him to it.

It's not like they didn't care about him, because in truth, they'd both die for Theo if it came to it, but they were so happy to finally see their pack again, and so they brushed Theo aside.

It made Theo feel used.

Melissa McCall came home a few hours later. She was surprised by the amount of people crowded around in her living. Although, maybe it wasn't the people, maybe it was the pizza boxes that were placed everywhere. Stiles had forced everyone to get their own food, ensuring them that he would not be sharing.

No one had bothered to get Theo food, though he didn't mind. He wasn't in the mood to eat, anyway.

And so, instead of eating with the rest of them, he sat on the floor beside the couch, watching how happy Liam looked in his own environment. He looked like a puppy, he looked genuinely happy. It was almost like this was Liam's home, even though he had told the chimera that Theo was his home.

He turned his attention to Derek. Him and Stiles looked so in love, he couldn't see them breaking up. It would tear them both to pieces, he thought. They looked so joyful, it made his heart hurt. He would never be that happy, not if Liam wasn't there to be happy with him.

Lastly, he looed at Lydia, who was messing around with Allison. They were so in love, too. It was like they were made for each other. Theo saw real smiles on their faces, and he thought that the three of his closest friends looked happier here than they did when just the four of them spent time together.

He furrowed his eyebrows together, trying not to tear up. He didn't want to lose anyone else. It's not like anyone would notice him if he was to start crying anyway.

He had heard the whispers. Malia talking to Stiles about him. Malia talking to Kira about him. Stiles talking to Scott about him. It was too much for him to bear.

And so, with a loud bang against the floor, Theo stood up and walked to the kitchen, the rest of the pack properly noticing him.

None of them knew, they would never know the pain they had caused the chimera.
