Ride Home

Melanie's POV

I rolled my eyes as Billy looked annoyed at the fact he had to sit by me but quickly covered it up with a smirk .

"You again ?"

He muttered with laughter at the end but I could tell he wasn't joking .

"Could say the same to you"

"You might want to watch your mouth"

"Was that a threat ? Who do you think you are ? You've only been here one day"

"One day and I've managed to get all the ladies attention except yours"

"All the other girls here are dimbos"
I retorted .

"You wound me"

"Whatever"

The lesson which was only a hour seemed to drag on for what felt like days until the teacher announced that we would be working on a project out of school in the pairs we was sat in for the next 2 weeks .

"Tomorrow after school . I would rather spend limited time with you so let's get it over with"
I groaned .

"At mine? I will pick you up after school don't be late"
Billy responded.

"Yes I just better hope that nobody thinks I'm you're whore for the night because that would be insulting"

"Most my whores are hot"

"Most your whores you've most likely forgotten the names of . Am I right ?"

"Exactly which is why I will have forgotten your name by the end of this project"

"Im not one of your whores"

"You will be"

"No I will not"

I sighed before walking to my next lesson .

The day went by uneventful as I expected it to other than the Billy incident.

I saw that both Steve and Jonathan's cars was gone which meant I would probably having to walk home .I groaned at this because I couldn't be bothered .

After walking for a bit I could hear a car coming my way . It was going extremely fast and I immediately knew who it belonged too .

Billy's car stopped at the side of me .

"Need a ride?"
Billy smirked .

"What did I sa—"

Billy rolled his eyes before saying

"There's no one around and all I'm doing is offering you a ride home"

"It's fine I will walk"

I continued walking only for Billy to start his car then stop it again right next to me .

"Just get in"

I sighed before agreeing because he didn't seem like he was going to give up .

"Max move"

Billy said harshly to the redhead in the passenger seat who looked terrified .

"No Billy it's fine I will sit in the back . It's no big deal"
I said .

"MAX MOVE"
Billy shouted .

Max moved into the back whilst looking scared .

I sat in the passenger seat awkwardly . Not expecting Billy's outburst on the innocent girl .

"You shouldn't treat her like that she did nothing wrong"
I said .

"She's a shithead"

"No she isn't . If anyone is it's you"

I saw Max looking shocked that someone had stuck up for her through the mirror hanging from the roof of the car . Whilst Billy clenched his hands tighter around the wheel making the car go faster , whether that was intentional or not I do not know .

"Billy slow down"
I said .

I didn't want to be in a car going so fast that if it hit someone they would most certainly die .

The car sped over the hill and my eyes widened as I saw Will Byers , Mike Wheeler , Lucas Sinclair and Dustin Henderson riding on there bikes in front of us .

The four of them was like my little siblings . Not biologically but that's how I saw them .

"Billy slow down it's not funny"
Max said worriedly .

"BILLY SLOW THE FUCK DOWN"
I shouted .

As the car was about to hit the four boys I grabbed the wheel and swerved the car around them .

"Stop the car . I want to get out"

Billy stopped the car .

"I don't think any of these are your house"

"No they aren't but I'll be damned if I have to spend another moment longer in this car with you ."

"That hurt"
Billy mocked .

"Don't speak to me asshole . You almost ran over 4 kids who I care about deeply"

"It was just a bit of fun I wasn't actually going to run them over"

Fun ? Was this his idea of fun . I grew angry at Billy's words and slapped him across his face .

"Fuck off"
I muttered .

I walked the rest of the way home of the way home only to see that Steve was already home .

"Where have you been?"
Steve asked

"I walked home partially"

"Partially ?"

"Billy Hargrove is a dick"

"New guy?"

"Yeah him"

I saw Steve scrunch his nose up at the mention of Billy's name indicating that he didn't like him .

"Why were you getting a ride with him anyway?"

"He didn't give me much of a choice"
