Invitations

Melanie's POV

I Sighed as I made my way out of maths whilst party invitations was handed out .

Sometimes I couldn't understand why people had parties on a week day like why not just wait till the weekend where you can rest the next day when you have a hangover instead of having it in class .

Speaking of week day parties Steve always use to throw them when we was friends with Tommy H and Carol who was now led by Billy .

I always hated when Steve through those parties or maybe I just hated Tommy H and Carol considering I only put up with them for Steve's sake which I think Tommy and Carol figured out because they treat me like I was a priss .

I took a invitation already knowing I would most likely show up as its not like I had anything better to do tonight .

Jonathan however passed on the invitation which in all honesty I didn't blame him because a majority of the year despised him even though I doubt they've ever had a conversation with him and have just listened to the disgusting lies Tommy and Carol made up last year about him killing Will .

Nancy and i never believed the lies as we both knew how much Jonathan cared for Will .

Speaking of Nancy she suddenly appeared behind us with a grin on her face whilst shoving one of the party invitations in his hands causing me to smirk at Jonathan's face .

"No I don't do parties"
Jonathan said the nerves clear in his voice .

"Come on Jonathan"
I said .

"You're coming"

Nancy said causing Jonathan to hesitantly nod in agreement .

I almost laughed remembering a time when Nancy was so hesitant about parties . Infact her first party was round at mine when Steve invited her and then the Barb girl went missing .

Even though I never really liked Barb and found her extremely annoying her disappearance was unfortunate and sad .

Steve , Nancy , Jonathan and I all knew she wasn't just missing . We all knew she died in the upside down and I would never wish death upon anyone .

I saw Steve stood by his car and thankfully no sign of Billy but Steve looked pissed .

"Stay away from Hargrove"

"Ok ? I don't see why I would need to go near him but what's he done?"

"He's going to be the new king of Hawkins"

I rolled my eyes and snorted before saying

"Really Steve ? Is that all ?"

Steve stopped for a moment before saying

"Yes but surely my hair is better than his like come on"

"Steve I've always found your hair ridiculous to be completely honest with you"
I said whilst laughing .

"So Billy's is better?"

"I'm not quite sure to be fair but don't you dare go and steal his hair idea then you would look even more ridiculous"

"I wasn't planning on it he's hair is stupid anyway"

"You sound like a school girl with a crush Steve"

"No if anyone has a crush on him it's you"

I looked at Steve and snorted .

"Explain how"

"Hmmm He gives you rides in his car and oh yeah you look at each other with the soppy eyes"

"Ok so the first time I got in his car he made me then the second time was for a project In biology and what soppy eyes"

"The weird looks"

"That sounds more like you and Nancy"

"Whatever are you going to that party"

"Yup"
I said popping the p .

This was more of a filler chapter but the next chapter is the party and I'm going to get something relatively interesting to happen there :)
