Melanie's POV

I wore a rather casual outfit which was pretty much just some denim shorts and a pink floyd tee .

I already knew Billy was going to be at this party considering he's the new King of Hawkins also known as the role Steve use to be and is so terrified of loosing but to be completely honest Steve lost the role as soon as Billy arrived.

Steve went to pick Nancy up leaving me with no ride to the party . I Should probably learn how to drive soon considering I still haven't .

I noticed a car at my drive way and saw it was Jonathan's . I grinned as I got into my best friends car .

"Thank you Johnny"

"I knew Steve would've picked Nancy up and I know how you feel about third wheeling them"

"Yep its pretty cheesy not going to lie"

"Can't say I disagree"

"Ya know Johnny I'm surprised you have actually decided to go the party"

"Honestly I've surprised my self too"

I chuckled before Jonathan spoke once more .

"What's going on between you and Hargrove ? His names Billy or something right ?"

"There's nothing going on .Don't be a Steve"
I scoffed .

"How am I Anything like Steve ?"

"Your both convinced I have a thing for Billy which I don't and you both have your undying loves for Nancy Wheeler"

"It ends there though"

"True true"

"And we're here"

"Thank you for the ride Johnny"

I rolled my eyes as a majority of the people here chanted Billy's name as Tommy H officially announced him as the new King of Hawkins . How pathetic . Why do we even have a king of the school .

I went back to the drinks table and poured myself a drink as I had been doing since I got here however this was my first drink considering all I had been doing was snacking on the food .

Not long after Steve accidentally got a large drink stain over a too drunk Nancy when he tried to take the alcoholic drink off of her causing her to storm upstairs with him following after her .

5 mins later Steve came down the stairs and stormed out of the house Causing Jonathan to finish his conversation with some girl before presumably making his way to Nancy .I will have to speak to Steve about that later .

I felt a presence beside me and looked up to see Billy getting a drink .

Remembering how angry he was at me the other day I decided to not speak unless spoken too .

"So not speaking ?"
Billy asked .

"You made it pretty clear you didn't want me too speak to you the other day"

"Can we speak about that ?"

I raised my eyebrow at him .

"Here ?"

"No come for a walk"

I nodded and followed Billy outside .
