Liar

Melanie's POV

"So Billy What did you want to talk to me about?"
I asked.

"I'm sorry I got mad at you"

"Did the Billy Hargrove, King of Hawkins just apologise to me?"
I asked jokingly.

Billy gave me a look .

"No but seriously it's ok . I mean it's understandable why you got mad like you did"
I continued.

"Don't tell anyone about my dad"

"I wouldn't"

"Good"

I looked at Billy who had a cigarette in his mouth .

"Billy ? Why Are you always smoking ?"

"It looks more attractive"

"Really? is that all you care about?"

"No"

"Enlighten me . What else do you care about other than womanising sluts?"

"You"

"What?"

"I care about you"

Surely Billy was joking or playing some sort of  prank .

"I don't believe you"

"Why else would I take those hits for you when he was calling you a whore"

"I thought you just said it because you knew I wasn't one"

"I don't know if you've realised but I'm not that sincere"

"Makes sense"

"Believe me yet ?"

"How many girls do you say this stuff too?"

"I've only ever said it too you"

"I don't bel—"

Before I could finish my words Billy pressed his mouth to mine and began to kiss me . Foolishly I responded infact it was pretty hard not to .

Once I realised what I was doing I pulled away .

"Sorry Billy but I cant do this"

"Why not ?"

"I can't trust you"

"One chance?"

"Do you really think I'm willing to get my heartbroken?"

"I won't break it"

"Your many things Billy Hargrove now you can add liar to the list"

Billy stormed off without speaking any words . He didn't look very happy .

I walked home miserably and was glad to see my driveway coming into view .

I saw a figure sat at the edge of the swimming pool and sighed in relief when I saw it was Steve .

"Jesus Steve I thought you was a peeping Tom or something"

Steve gave me no reply which reminded me of his whole Nancy incident back at the party .

I sat down on the edge of the pool next to Steve with my legs in the water . I then realised Steve was crying . Wow must've been pretty bad because Steve never cries . I haven't seen him cry in years .

"Steve are you crying ? What happened ?"

"Well according to Nancy our relationship was bullshit . I'm bullshit and apparently everything is bullshit"

"You really like her ? I mean you never cry"

Steve nodded .

"You know this was always going to happen eventually"
I stated .

"How so?"

"I think she has a bit of a thing for Jonathan"

"I know I just wouldn't admit to myself"

Ok so the chapter is finished also I don't know if you have noticed but the events that happen in the story probably don't stick to the order the events happen in the show that's purposely done for this story to work :)
