Melanie's POV

"And what do you expect me to do about it ?"
Billy muttered .

I thought about this and realised telling somebody might not actually be the easiest option .

"I'm not too sure"
I idly replied .

What I did next even made me surprise myself as I grabbed hold of Billy's hand before continuing

"You can always speak to me about it"

Billy's gaze softened and for a moment he looked as if he was going to accept my offer before his expression hardened once more .

"No . You're only saying this because of what's just happened. If it hadn't of happened you wouldn't give a shit about me"

I thought about this for a second whilst choosing my next words carefully .

"You'd be surprised"

Billy rolled his eyes and sighed but nevertheless raised his eyebrows gesturing for me to continue , so I did .

"I don't like seeing people hurt and I guess it was rather obvious that you act like a asshole because you're hurting inside"

I knew Billy wouldn't admit to this but the look in his eyes confirmed that my assumption was the truth .

"You don't know me"

"No i didn't mean it like th-"

"Whatever get the fuck out"

I flinched at Billy's harsh tone but not wanting to make anything worse than it already was I walked towards the door before stopping and turning slightly before saying

"I'm sorry"

Whilst walking out of Billy's house I was stopped by the girl I recognised as Max.

"You're not like the others are you ?"

I looked at Max in confusion before replying

"Others?"

"The other girls Billy brings home"

When I heard her say this I quickly caught on that im not like the bitchy whores i presume he has previously brought back to his house .

"No I don't think I am"

"You're nicer and not desperate"

I chuckled at this before replying

"No im not i was only here for a school project anyway"

"You have caught his interest"

I couldn't hold in my laughter as Max said this before replying

"I certainly haven'.He hates me and I ha... dislike him"

Max seemed to pick up on the fact that I didn't bring myself to say hate before she Smirked and said

"You keep telling yourself that"

Before she walked back inside her house . I watched her walk away in disbelief at her boldness .
