"Where's Katherine" Mrs. Robertson asked quietly at role.
"I haven't seen her since yesterday Mrs. Robertson." Kiara said in a matter of fact way. I didn't like her. She was too goody-two-shoes. The headmistress closes her eyes for a little an her hands float in the air.
"Katherine is not in this house." She said in a dead serious tone. She had used divination to find out where Katherine is. Divination is one of the seven wonders you have to complete when you're testing to be the supreme. She tells us not to worry, but how could we not. If she's not in the house or courtyard, she must be out. We aren't allowed to go anywhere without telling the headmistress first.
"I'll send a search party." She says, still completely calm. I don't know what her search party will be. We don't have security or an army or anything like that. I meet up with Cooper and Camille at lunch.
"Where in the hell would Katherine be anyways? The only reason that bimbo would be out is to go to hot topic or something." Camille can be rude but it's all in good fun.
"We should be worrying Camille." I say "People could find out that she's a witch and burn her. They still do that you know."
"Witches still get burned at the stake." I feel bad for Cooper. He just doesn't know.
"Yeah. About four months ago there was a giant scare in Florida because a group of super religious people thought they saw a group of witches conjuring the devil. People are really dumb sometimes." Cooper seemed surprised that witches were still being burned. It seems awful but things like this still happen. Mrs. Robertson walks into the lunch hall
"I want to see you two in the office" she looks towards Camille and me. We hurry to her office where she sits us down to talk.
"I want you ladies and Cooper to try to find out where Katherine is. I think you three could do it safely." We nod, listening intently "Of course there are precautions you have to take. Try not to use any magic unless it is completely necessary. If you need to, do it in private."
"Why didn't you ask Cooper to come in here too?" Camille has questions about everything. I just learned to take in the information I have and not be annoying and ask for more. I don't really know why I'm like this. I mean, my parents were pretty bad in the sense that they were nosey as hell and always had to look into things they weren't supposed to.
"You can go tell Cooper about this. I didn't want to talk to him personally and scare him" she had a point. Cooper seemed pretty delicate. Definitely someone who scares easy. We walk out together, not immediately seeing him.
"His nerdy ass is probably in the library lets go look there." Camille suggests. We walk to the east wing of the second floor and walk in the huge library. Sure enough he's there, sitting in a nest of smelly old books.
"We have to tell you something." I say as I squat down next to him. He nods and make makes a grunty sound, still looking down at his book. He finally looks up after like five minutes of us trying to get his attention.
"What do you want" he says very annoyed with us.
"The headmistress told Camille and me that she wanted us to go on a search party to find Katherine. She didn't tell you personally because she didn't want to scare you."
"What makes you think I would be scared?" He seems hurt. We kind of just look at him and he gets the point.
"So when do we go" he asked. I guess we never asked her about when we would actually go and find her.
"Uh, I don't actually know" I replied "We could ask if we see her in the halls or just go to her office." We decided to leave him in the Library. Camille goes off other room and I decide to go to a poisoning class. This room had a lot of animals to test poisons on. Some people had to make their own. I could poison pretty much any liquid I looked at. I went to the rusty metal medicine cabinet standing in the corner of the room. I grabbed a glass of water, milk, and oil, and brought them to a table. The way I usually went about this class is routine. I usually got 3 different liquids, using my magic to poison all of them. The mice and other small rodents were used for testing, meaning that I would give them the poisoned water to drink, and see what happens. I put the water, milk, and oil down on the table and walk over to the cages, coming back with a small white mouse. Focusing on the water first, I tried putting traces of Amatoxin in it. Amatoxin is found in mushroom caps, and causes the kidney and liver to shut down. I pour the hopefully poisoned water in a petrie dish and let the mouse drink. The mouse should be alive for a few days, but in really bad pain. I leave it be and move on to the milk. I finish with the other two substances. The milk was easy for me. Bases were easy because I could just turn it into an extreme base. I hadn't known this from my independent studies but extreme bases can be just as dangerous as extreme acids. The oil has always been the most difficult for me to manipulate. Something about the chemical makeup made it hard to turn into a poison. Like I thought, no success in poisoning the oil. I finish my class and go back to my room. Im itching to see Cooper but he's probably off doing something more important. I shake the feeling and go to studying biochemistry. This was important to know about because I had to examine the animals I test to know what I poisoned them with. At least until I was good enough to be accurate all the time. I'm assuming that we leave to find Katherine tomorrow; Mrs. Robertson hasn't told us otherwise.
