Chapter Twenty Nine: The Sports Festival

(Yeah, nearly 20 chapters jump from the Ouran Fair, but there hasn't been much interesting things going on)

"Another festival?" Carala grumbled. "We just had one two weeks ago!"

"You didn't attend that one. And this," Takashi leaned closer. "is a Sport Festival."

Carala suddenly sat up. "Sports Festival? I'm in."

"Just because you're depressed that you failed another University, you shouldn't skip out on Host Club meetings." Takashi sighed. "You'll be on White Team, with Mitsukuni. I'm on Red Team." Takashi said.

"Team leaders?" Carala seemed even more eager than when she was studying for the exam.

"Yours is Kyoya, mine is Tamaki."

"You're going down." Carala stuck out her tongue. "Have fun having Tono as your leader."

"What events will you be entering, Basa senpai?" Kaoru asked.

"Boys Obstacle Race." Carala told him without hesitation.

Kaoru water dropped. "Uh, I don't think you can do that..they're called Boys Obstacle Race for a reason.."

Carala shrugged. "There's no Girls Obstacle Race. All the girls events aren't running."

"Taka's running with us too!" Carala exclaimed happily as she walked to the starting line.

"Mitsukuni. Carala." Takashi greeted them. "This is boys only, Cara."

Carala pouted. "There's no girls obstacle race. What was I supposed to do, Bread Dining?"

"We're starting the race with an obstacle course! The Highlight of this battle is Haninozuka VS Morinozuka! It's a cousin's face off!" The announcer cried.

"They forgot me.." Carala complained.

"We're not related." Mitsukuni reminded her.

"Ready..

Set..

Go!"

Carala sped forwards. For a moment, she was ahead of everyone else, but Takashi caught up to her.

First jump coming.

Carala leaped up, narrowly hitting the vault.

Of course, Takashi easily cleared the vault, and Mitsukuni jumped high, superhuman high.

Cake eating.

Carala ate the cake in quick, clean bites, and ran off. After Takashi, but before Mitsukuni, surprisingly.

"You have to savour the cake!" Mitsukuni yelled and started chasing after him.

Pole vaulting, coming up.

Mitsukuni jumped, but suddenly, his foot hit the pole, sending him down.

"Mitsu!" Carala cried, but Takashi beat her. He caught Mitsukuni and landed on the mattress.

Carala breathed a sigh of relief and jumped clearly above her pole vault.

"Takashi!" Mitsukuni cried, hugging his cousin, and Carala sighed.

"Third to you two again. When will I ever beat you, Taka?" Carala shook her head, then smiled. "Renge won't let you hear the end of this."

Takashi's face turned white.

Shit.

Renge.

"MORINOZUKA! HANINOZUKA!~"

"RUN!"
