To be very honest, I never thought I would actually write a story about Chiharu and Hikaru. They both were just drawings that I randomly drew while in school to be very honest.

Yeah. That is a drawing I drew of them early this year. Couldn't find the one I drew two years ago.

Chiharu was supposed to be somewhat of a reflection of myself. Excluding her emo attitude because in real life, I'm not an emo kid that had experienced great trauma in her life.

No. I'm just a regular girl.

In this book, Chiharu struggles to find out who she really was and how she learns to love and what love really is.

I personally am a girl who really doesn't know what love is. Then how did I write this book? Simple. I observed.

Yes.

I have never gotten into a relationship before, but observing allows me to understand what relationships really meant and the feelings that are evoked.

Chiharu is basically a reflection of myself.

To be very honest, I'm not much of a very girly type of girl. No joke. I don't want to self proclaim myself as a tomboy but if there was another word that could describe me then I would use it.

Straight forwardness, tries to be strong, covers up her sorrows. All these are basically what I personally do.

Her love for music, sporty nature and even just her smiling is just like me. I don't know how to smile in front of a camera. I love music in general and I love sports too.

Yes. She is generally a character based on my personality and my behaviour.

I'm not afraid to admit it. I do wonder how it is like to fall in love or even be in love.

And that's why I wrote this book. To discover what lies beyond what I know. It is a way of pinning down how I feel and showing how I can draw contrast from the real world to the story world.

In conclusion, it's basically how I discover what love is.

Bounded by Barlines is actually a name I though of while practicing my piano and doing my theory.

I was given a certain amount of barlines and I had to write a melody for it.

And that's when I thought of it.

Haha weird, I know.

Why are there only 24 chapters? Well it's because I followed the amount of bars there are in the first variation of Mozart's 12 variations of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. There are 24 bars, therefore 24 chapters.

I think you can guess why I used twinkle twinkle little star as a description too.

Well, that basically sums everything up to be honest.

Oh wait, did you know that Hikaru and Chiharu actually met once when they were kids?

Well you don't because it wasn't stated in the book.

Originally, I wanted to add in this, but I thought it was completely off when I first wrote the first few chapters.

Chiharu and Hikaru met at a piano competition before and of course it ended with Chiharu snagging the top spot for the competition.

Their parents were rivals and that made the two of them.

It was only once though.

Hehe okay. I basically summed everything up already. And I need to go to sleep because I've actually been writing this and the previous chapter since 5 am or so.

See you at the next book!

Bye~~
