SOPHIA
🌷
"This is your millionth bottle!" The blonde girl Sophia had befriended two hours ago laughed as she was quite tipsy herself. "We all know what that means."
Sophia laughed too as she took the last sip of her drink. "You do?"
"Of course," The blonde girl's friend replied with a sad smile. "We've all been there."
Sophia wanted to forget so going to the club was her only option in her clouded mind. She knew Lola wouldn't go with her so she impulsively got dressed and left while her parents were watching TV in their room. She drove her car to the small shopping center near her house and had an uber pick her up.
Sophia was only eighteen so she knew very well she wasn't legal to drink but that didn't stop her. When she got into the crowded building, she spotted two girls sitting by a lounge. They were laughing with soft drinks in their hands and no boys in sight. The two girls who went by Ruby and Polly didn't even ask her why she wanted to drink so badly. The three girls got along well and it felt as though they had known each other for a lifetime.
"What stupid person broke your heart?" Polly scowled as she gulped down Ruby's unfinished drink.
"You should know," Sophia scoffed. "Your typical bad boy."
Ruby smiled knowingly. "Should've known. You're the human version of an angel."
Sophia frowned, rubbing her face in annoyance. "Does my face really scream out goody-two-shoes?"
"Somewhat," Polly slurred but studied her face intently. "but really you have an angelic aura. You're very pretty. Ethereal... celestial...heavenly-"
"Ok, Polly," Ruby laughed, nudging her friend. "We get it. Sophie is flawless but even perfect Sophia got her heartbroken."
Polly snickered before standing up and sitting down next to Sophia. She wrapped her arm around her shoulder and began patting her head. "They don't know how to value us."
"I even gave myself to him! Gosh, I was so stupid."
"That's all those guys want. Truly disgusting."
Sophia softly hummed in response, staring at her empty glass cup. She thought of getting another drink but her bladder was quick to object. She abruptly stood up and flashed a shy smile.
"What's wrong?" Ruby asked, concerned for the younger girl. She was still sober so she was more alert than Polly.
"I need to pee!" Sophia shouted and wasted no time in trying to find the bathroom. She heard Ruby's faint voice telling her to wait but Sophia couldn't hold it in anymore.
Sophia stumbled into what she thought was the ladies' bathroom. Her vision was failing in registering people and words as the hours went by. She giggled to herself when she caught a glance of her dress in the mirror. She tried to sexily strut to the mirror to get a closer look but her heels decided against it. Sophia wasn't used to such high heels so her missing a step and almost twisting her ankle wasn't a surprise. Her arms reached out, hoping a wall was much closer than she thought. When she felt the hard surface, she grinned proudly and sighed.
