~ Clarence ~

“Where is that brat?! She knows she can’t hide forever!” The torchlight continued to search the alleyway as I peered through the tiny hole found through the lid.

I. Am. Going. To. Die.

Here I am hiding from the five idiots. Oh wait, I forgot to add the drunk, five idiots. How did I get here? Well to summarize the situation in one word, karma but other than that it all started with my first day of school. Today.

So of course as cliché as it sounds, my schedule was identical to my girl, Katie, except for one subject, sport aka PDHPE. English and math was a breeze as Tristram and I sat next to each other, writing down Matt’s answers so that the teacher thought we were actually doing work, followed by science with the lovebirds (Kalan? Datie?), art with Sam who flirted with pretty much every girl, and finally just me and Katie together for Music (which was synch) before the dreaded subject.

“Okay Kids. Today we are going to play a game of baseball.”

She then split us into to teams.

“Team 2 please choose you pitcher!”

Now the teacher had not noticed one tiny, little thing. All the jocks, cheerleaders and athletic people were on Team 1. My team consisted of nerds and flirts making me the only normal one. Of course my team mates had realized that to and pushed me forward so that I would “volunteer” for being pitcher. Fun.

“Batter UP!”

And that was when the demon arrived. Finn Hue.

He stood in position with his baseball bat ready along with an arrogant grin that covered his face. My heart was starting to beat faster. I can’t pitch to save my life! By now everyone was waiting, staring at me like 3 days had already gone past. So I closed my eyes and threw it. BAM karma! I opened my eyes to see that not only did Finn Hue not hit the ball, I hit his shoulder, the bruise easy to see miles away. The flirts immediately surrounded him, checking if he was okay but the others just started whispering to each other.

“Finn Hue got hit by the new girl!” One whispered.

“He’s meant to be invincible, I heard, a baseball champion!”

“I can’t believe it! She left quite a big bruise too!”

Now Finn Hue’s staring straight at me, his eyes burning with hate.

“Class dismissed!”

The teacher shouted as she went over to see the injury. I immediately walked as fast as I could outside to get my stuff from my lockers. I needed to get home ASAP. I reached my locker, inserted the code, grabbed my bag and ran like the roadrunner.

15 minutes later, I was two streets away from the minivan when I realized something I was being trailed. I turned around to find a blue Porsche accompanied by 5 drunk boys, aka Finn and Jason’s mates. Each one of them had a bottle of beer in their hand with countless bottles of beer below them.

“GET HER!”

I started running. Now I understand what Katie said and I have messed with both of them. Wait. Jason knows vaguely where I live so if I go home now, they will track me down later and who knows what they will do to the minivan. So I changed direction and started to head down an alleyway between the supermarket and the movies.

The alleyway soon came to an end and thanks to daylight saving) it was getting dark.

“Down here!”

I turned around freaked out that they were still tracking me down. I continued running, my head over my shoulders to see if they were there and then CRASH! I hit the wall and fell slowly down on my knees in pain and shock. A dead end. Oh curse you Clarence!! All cliché alleyways are bound to have a dead end. I saw the torchlights in the distance drawing nearer. Think Clarence, think! I recall as my head scanned the area until they finally lock onto a large bulky object. The concrete, garbage dump container.

So here I am, covered in scraps, peeking through a hole in a garbage dump container. Once again I saw the yellow light near by and out of precaution dug myself further under the scraps. A rotten aroma filled the air while I felt something near my left hand that felt something squishy yet bony. I screamed but quickly clasped a hand (non-infected one) over my mouth praying that they did not hear anything.

One of them snickered, most likely Jason, and said: “Boys, I have a better plan.” This was followed by muttering and the departure of the drunkards.

I waited until they were quite a fair distance away before I quickly climbed out of the container.  That was when I saw a flash.

I am extremely sorry for the late update guys and there is no excuse and I just hope this was worth the wait.

But on that note, did the action work? Tell me what you think in the comments below.

What was that flash you ask? It will be explained in Emma's chapter which I 90% believe will be uploaded in the next two weeks. No pressure Sharkie Biscuit! But meanwhile, tell us what you think is going to happen and remember to become a Sherbert Family Member (SFM?) by clicking that miniscule picture over there (somewhere -->) and clicking follow!

Thanks for your patience and support!
