PART TEN.

「ｊｕｎ」

"Hello, Joshua" I greet, not showing surprise by his intervention to my walking pass.

He stood for a moment, hands in his pocket. "I would like you to come with me, if you may."

This can't be good.

He led me to the restrooms, where I now lean against the wall and look at the taller boy who paces quietly in a circle.

"What do you think you're doing? After.. after you were so kind to me those days in class, before and after I had met Xu Minghao. After I warned you of his ways, you began to see him. Is this a joke? Do you not appreciate our relation- our friendship?"

Brother, this boy whom I had less than a basic friendship with has seemed to grown attached.

"Josh, you're a good man, I know that. And yet.."

I take him by surprise by slamming my arm on the wall behind him, closing the distance between us. His shirt collar in hand, I bear my teeth.

"Who do you think you are speaking to me that way?" I finish.

"Jun?" A voice echoes behind me.

Shit. My eyes widen as I drop Joshua who had been raised against the wall. He stumbles and looks at the one who called my name.

"Get a hold of your friend!" He snarls.

"Jun, what are you doing to Joshua?" Mingyu asks. He's not surprised, but confused— this is evident in his still soft tone.

I turn to Joshua. "Stay away from Minghao, and stay away from me."

I walk towards the exit and turn Mingyu by the shoulder as I walk out.

"Come on, Gyu, lets motor."

Now walking down the hall, he slows his pace a bit.

"What happened?" He dares to ask, and I try to collect my thoughts well enough.

"Joshua seems to be fond of me. Threatened my to stay away from.. a girl in our psych."

"Oh.. how strange. Uhm, anyway, to change the subject, have you seen that singing boy around— Jeonghan? He always sung at the court—quite the voice— and yet he's failed to show up since the weekend."

"Say, I wouldn't know." I figure. "Isn't he incredibly close with Scoups?"

"That's why I ask" he waves his hand. "He and I were chilling last night while you were at Minghao's. He was quite on the edge of his seat."

"He'll figure it out. Come, let's skip for now and go to the arcade."

In response to my confrontation with Joshua, that was the first time I had ever lied to Kim Mingyu.
