PART TWENTY FOUR.

I'm out just in time for lunch, right after the class where the journey to I came in contact with Joshua.

I can't help but shiver as I walk out of the main building..
almost immediately I feel a presence nearby I don't want to be true.

Or do I?

He's here.

The king is back.

「ｊｕｎ」

I know I'm walking in to the undetermined event I've been worried about. I felt it coming, and as I turn the corner a crowd packs around the schools first computer lab. Loud but uncomprehendable drivel speed around me, and I notice that all heads are turned up and I mimicked the action.

Suddenly, a hand is on my shoulder. It's Vernon.

"What's everybody looking at?" I yell over the crowd. His hand is shaking. The other raises and points up.

"The roof." he stutters out.

Jutting my chin up, my eyes follow his finger where I finally see it.

Minghao and Joshua stand on the roof with each other's hands wrapped around the other's throats.

What. The fuck.

"I know, right?" Vernon answers, though I was unaware I said this out loud. "You didn't know about this, right?" He asks, sounding almost doubtful.

I glare at him momentarily. "Of course not. Don't be a twit." I look back up to figure out what's happening.
Whatever this is, it's not what I expected.

Eventually Minghao slams Joshua down. The latter tumbled down the roof momentarily, and there's gasps from the crowd worried the angle will have him plummeting.

My thoughts error for a second: what if he's armed.

I almost slap myself once it flows through my brain. If this was an equipped battle Minghao would have won by now. This is a fight man to man. Or rather, angel to devil, though I don't think I could determine which is which.

I continue to watch intently, but honestly I can't tell nor care who's winning— he stands before me now. It feels like seeing an idol for the first time, their body and aura is nearly overwhelming when it beholds you.

Joshua is thrown with the turn of his body. When he turns back, his eyes lock with mine.

My beholder has returned.

But isn't exactly the smartest.

Joshua takes quick note of Minghao's moment of weakness. Before I can even shout he's on his feet again from being slung behind Minghao and with a final blow of release,

Minghao is falling from the building.
