I sighed as I rushed out of the buildingFinally, no more classes today!
Monday's are the worst, especially whenever you have Medical Science Terms and Equipment at eight in the morning.
I guess that's the price I pay for wanting to be a successful doctor.
But it is better than having to plan around a class in the evening that way I have the rest of the day to myself
I hugged my binder full of notes closer to me as I began walking through a wave of people
Suddenly I felt weightless and my binder went flying trough the air
I landed on my back, my breath getting knocked away, and then I watched as my binder seemed to fall in slow motion through the air, spilling all of my notes before landing face down
"Oh my, I am so sorry, let me help you up" I looked up to see a curly haired boy standing there with his arm outstretched
I accepted it and as soon as I was standing he began gathering my papers and placing them in the binder as neatly as he could in his frantic state
"I am so sorry, I should've been watching where I was going-"
"Hey hey, it's okay. No harm done. Thank you for gathering my papers and helping me out" I smiled as he calmed down
"Yeah, no problem. Glad I could help." He returned the smile and handed my the binder
"So what's your name?" I asked as students walked around us
"Jack. Jack Avery. You?"
"Y/n Y/l/n"
"That's a beautiful name. Hey, um, do you maybe wanna go get some coffee or some food sometime?" He asked nervously
"Yeah, I'd like that"
"Okay uh when is a good time for you?"
"Well I'm free now if you want to go" I suggested shrugging my shoulders
He started to nod his head slowly before a smile reached his lips
"Yeah. Yeah let's go!" He exclaimed and grabbed my hand
He began leading me through the crowd with some new found confidence
We reached a local café and he pulled out a chair for me
We sat in that café for hours just talking about college life and what our lives were like before
Soon enough it was midnight and Jack offered to walk me to my dorm
We talked the whole way and exchanged numbers as we reached my door
As soon as he said goodnight I gained the courage to stand on the tips of my toes and kiss his cheek
He blushed at the contact and I whispered goodnight a final time before slowly going into my dorm
I watched through the peep hole as he touched his cheek and smiled brightly before walking off with a jump in his step.
It's easy to say that even I know that I will be seeing a lot more of Jack Avery.
