"Who's that?" Jason asked. Melissa turned around to see he was pointing at a picture on the wall. It had a girl with long red hair and riding gear hugging a portly and mildly frightened man while holding a Manila folder. Her face wasn't showing but you could already tell what a beauty she was.
"That's Jade," Melissa replied affectionately. "She lives in L.A but is also the owner of this place. See, she grew up in Troydale and fell in love with horses when visiting Nois Island. Supposedly, she bought this place when she was 25, only to have to return to L.A for her job as a lawyer. She visits every year at least once a month to ride Daisy there." As if in response, said horse grunted and flipped her mane. "Jade is a great person. Her love of horses and my family lead to her giving the barn to my mother with paperwork stating my mother is the owner but as a precaution, she also made a contract that stated if my mother tried to take the barn from her, she'd have rights to sue." Melissa laughed and shook her head.
Then, turning to Jason who'd been silently gazing at the picture, she said,"well lets get moving. Stalls don't clean themselves." With that, they moved on, the thought of Jade still lingering in the corners of their mind.
