Alisia's P.O.V
As Nolan and I walk down the hallway, I rant whilst clutching my binders with one hand and gesturing wildly with the other.
"I mean, as if ANYONE remembers something that she told us 3 MONTHS AGO!" I rant, complaining about how the english teacher gave us an assignment that was due the next day 3 months ago without bothering to give us any other information.
As I huffed in exasperation, I heard Nolan chuckle a little next to me. I give him a sideways look to see that he was holding his books to the side like a breifcase and currently, his eyes were filled with amusement as he smirked good-naturedly to me. "Calm down. We'll do it today."
Scowling at him, I replied, "does it look like I can "calm down"?! What if we fail? I have to get into Harvard!" As I finished, I felt an arm creep around my waist.
And let me tell you, It wasn't Nolan.
"Woah, mo ghrá" I heard. Instantly, I felt my eyes widen and my body stiffen.
Turning to Nolan, I saw that his eyes were focused on the gorgeous Irish boy currently draped around me.
Although I could tell he was mad, Nolan's manners never fail him. "Hello. My name is Nolan. And you are..."
"Burke. Lance Burke." Turning to him, I saw that Lance's smile was smug with a hint of possesiveness.
There was a tense silence.
"Well then," I say, interrupting the silence. Both the boys turn to look at me, ruining the testosterone filled stare-off. "I'll text you about the project time, Nolan. Lance and I have to...talk." At my words, Nolan glanced at Lance again and nodded, flashing me a smile before spinning on his heel. As I watched the last hint of his blue plaid button-down, I felt Lance squeeze my waist a little.
"Hey babe," I heard whispered in my ear. Even now, his voice doesn't cease to make me shiver. Shrugging it and his arm off, I turn to my mate.
A/N:yes, this is werewolf based.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, my voice cold and my face a mask of thinly-veiled anger.
"Aww mo álainn" Lance whined, pouting slightly. I viewed him again. Taking in my gorgeous 6"10 blonde, and model-like mate, my heart tightens. "No welcome home party this time?"
Glaring at him once again, I concealed my hurt filled insides with a snarl enough to cause an alpha to run with his tails between his legs. "This is the third time you've left, no warning, no nothing. In case you've forgotten, I am your mate, whether I want to or not."
At my words, Lance flinched, a lock of his blonde hair flipping over his left blue eyes, his right green one filled with remorse. I held back my urge to reach and tuck his hair back, to comfort him. "Well that doesn't give you the right to snuggle up to some human and just leave Brookdale," he confronted, jaw clenched and head tilted in defiance.
Holding back the urge to sock my beloved in the stomach, I growled and threw my binders to the ground. As the papers scattered everywhere, I took a step forward and started ranting. "You were gone for 17 months! You left and you never looked back. At least before, I could feel the pull and I knew that you were alive. This time, I couldn't feel you! What did you expect me to do? To just sit back and wait for you to come back? I'm your mate, goddammit. And for all I knew, you could've been off with some she-wolf doing god knows what! So don't you dare tell me what I can't do with Nolan!"
With that, I stomped off, leaving my papers and the stunned Lance behind. As I reached my locker and grabbed my backpack, I went to the front of the school. As I settled down to wait for my brother, Brody, to come pick me up, my butt buzzed. Groaning, I reached for it and read a text from Brody saying,"sorry sis can't come Jane called says she wants to get back together ask Nolan love you."
