You woke up and everything was spinning. Your head hurt as you tried to get up, but there was a weight on top of you, preventing you from moving.

Groaning you glanced to your left and was met with a sleeping Daryl. You gasped loudly and backed away. You cried out as you hit the cold, hard, floor.

"Fuck," You cursed rubbing your head. Everything hurt. You couldn't even stand.

"Daryl, wake up," You kneeled next to the bed and slapped his arm weakly. "Daryl.." You dragged out his name.

"What," He groaned into the pillow.

"Help me up," You said poking his cheek.

"What're you doin' on the floor?"

"I fell," You said simply.

He lifted himself up and rubbed his eyes. You reached your arms up to him, pouting when he laughed.

"This is your fault y'know!"

"Yeah, yeah, okay."

"I need a shower. We stink." You were already naked as you stepped into the shower, and turned on the water. You sighed at the feeling of cold water relaxing your sore muscles.

You weren't surprised when Daryl stepped in after you.

--

Jacqui was gone. The CDC was gone. The place that you thought might actually be safe, was a lost cause.

You were now under a car next to Sophia. There was a herd of walkers around you, and when you heard a loud scream next to you, you panicked. Sophia was down the hill running from two walkers. You crawled out from under the car and ran after her.

She was too far ahead of you. You ran as fast as you could, but she was gone. She disappeared. "Sophia!" You yelled. There was a walker behind you, and you quickly pulled out your knife, stabbing it before running ahead.

--

You were lost. The highway was far gone and you were carrying Sophia in your arms.

At least if you found the group, they'd have something to bury.

There were tears streaming down your cheeks. You weren't able to protect her. You watched as a walker grabbed her, and bit into her shoulder.

You had to stab her to prevent her from turning. Your heart hurt again. You didn't like living in a world filled with death. It was turning dark. There was nowhere to go. You adjusted Sophia so her head was on your shoulder.

It was easier to run, that way.

--

You were covered in blood. Walkers were all over you and Sophia. You had to leave her. Her mother would probably kill you, but there was nothing you could do for a girl that was already dead.

It's been five days since you and Sophia got lost. You've been walking around the woods, and finally, you spotted some flat land that wasn't covered completely in trees. In the distance, you could see a house and a barn. You limped towards the farm, your body feeling numb.

There was yelling and then a gunshot. You looked up and saw Daryl, Glenn, Rick, and Shane. They had weapons in their hands, but you couldn't say anything as everything turned dark and you fell to the ground.

--

Thump. Thump. Thump.

That is the sound that is going through your head. It felt like you were hit by a truck. The room was dark.

Was it night already?

Your throat was dry. You pushed yourself up and looked out the window. The group was outside. They were all sat by a fire, talking amongst themselves.

You grabbed the glass of water that was left by the bed. Gulping it down quickly, you ambled outside. Nobody said anything as you sat down on the floor. You put your head in your arms, willing the pain to go away.

"You should be resting (Y/N)," Rick said rubbing your shoulder.

"I'm fine," You looked up and saw Carol looking at you with worry clear on her face. That made you immediately look back down. You help in tears as thoughts of Sophia rushed into your head.

"Daryl's going to look for Sophia in the morning. Did you see anything when you were out there? Maybe it'll help us," Carol spoke softly.

"Don't pressure her too much, she probably didn't see anything," Rick said.

"I saw a lot of things," Tears flooded your face as you sobbed into your arms.

"Did you see my daughter?" Carol asked.

"Yeah, saw her right away. We were both running as fast as we could. We got cut off by another horde of walkers. She was bitten. I tried carrying her back, maybe if I found you guys, we could at least bury her. I had to leave her. There was too many of them. I was walking around for days, and that's when I stumbled upon this place. I'm sorry Carol. I tried, I really did," You cried into your hands quietly.

Everyone was shocked, they thought they'd find Sophia. They really did. They thought they'd get what they wanted. But life just doesn't work that way sometimes.
