You waited and waited. They never came back. You had 13 rounds left. That wasn't enough ammunition to survive. They were probably at the camp right now. The box truck was gone.

You smashed the window of red Dodge Challenger. The noise hurt you, but you ignored the static in your ears and hotwired the car. You were headed back for the quarry. There was nowhere else to go.

--

When you got to camp, it was empty. There was a truck left behind with a note on it.

--

MORGAN
GOING TO CDC
THIS AREA
NOT SAFE
-RICK

--

Your name wasn't on the note. Had they already forgotten about you? You ripped off the note and grabbed the keys that were sat in the middle of the driver's seat. You were headed for the CDC, 'Morgan' can easily figure out for himself that nowhere is safe.

--

The car ran out of gas and you were left to walk to the CDC. You were lucky the car worked long enough, you just had to walk two miles now. The roads were filled with empty cars and a few walkers here and there. You used your knife to kill whatever was in your path.

You used to love life. Life without your parents or sibling was amazing. You stayed home by yourself without a care in the world.

Now, life was just exhausting. You had to fight every day, just to survive in this ruined world.

You were running out of food. You just finished your last granola bar. Your legs were burning, you were going to pass out soon.

But, finally, you spotted the CDC. There were walkers everywhere, it was getting dark, and there was sure to be more coming out soon.

There was a group of people. A man was yelling at the doors. "You're killing us!" It was Rick. Shane pulled him back as everyone started to walk away, walkers block their path.

Carl was left alone in the back of the group while his mother, Lori, went to talk to Rick. There were two walkers behind him, he didn't even notice until one of them grabbed his arm.

"Mom!" Everybody looked behind them as the young boy tried prying the walker off of him.

You didn't care if you were seen anymore. You ran in stabbing the walker in the head. You shot the other one with your gun as you pulled Carl in for a hug. "It's okay," You whispered as he cried into your shirt.

Everyone stared as you shot the walkers that were getting closer to the group. There weren't many walkers left as you saw a bright light coming from behind you.

"Carl, come on, let's go," He looked up at you as you pointed to the open door.

--

"Thank you for saving my son, (Y/N)," Rick filled the silence in the room. Everyone was drinking their wine and quietly chatting amongst themselves.

"Whatever," You took a swig from the bottle, the liquid burned your throat. "How did you get to the here anyway?" Rick asked looking at you.

"Took the truck you left for Morgan. Thanks by the way. Great to know that you forgot about me."

"I'm sorry, I didn't think they would let you go. Thought they might have killed you already." He stared at the glass in his hands.

"Yeah whatever, fuck you too," You stood up and walked to one of the empty rooms Dr. Jenner showed you. You heard the whispers coming from behind you, but you didn't care as you slammed the door shut and tossed the empty bottle onto the bed.

You started to undress. There's supposed to be hot water, you wanted to find out if that was true.

--

"Rick, you're just going to let her walk away after that?" Lori looked at her husband in disbelief.

"She got the bag of guns from the city. She shot all of the walkers in the front of the building, you should have seen it, Lori, she got us out of there. I had her go back to get my hat. It was stupid, I know, but she did it anyway. And she got kidnapped because of it. We don't know what happened to her, because we left her. She came back to us, and if she didn't, Carl would probably be dead right now. We owe her.." Rick looked guilty, and so did everyone else.

--

You've never been so happy to be in a shower right now. The warm water sliding down your skin, the steam clouding the stall. When you stepped out, you shrieked when you saw Daryl sitting on the bed facing you.

You grabbed the towel wrapping it around yourself. "What the hell are you doing?!" When he didn't respond you let out a frustrated sigh and proceeded to get dressed.

He stared as you walked over to him and sat on the bed. "What do you want?"

"Sorry I left."

"Doesn't matter anymore, Daryl."

"Should have gone back, I should of-"

"I said it doesn't matter," He pushed you lightly so your back was on the bed. You were about to protest when he pinned you down so you couldn't move. "Daryl? What are you doing?" You tried pushing him off, but his grip on you was too strong.

You froze when you felt slightly chapped lips pressed against yours. When you didn't move he pulled away with a scared expression on his face. "Sorry I didn't-" He was cut off by you're lips against his again. Your heart was racing in your chest as you both kissed each other passionately. You let out a small moan when his tongue entered your mouth forcefully.

You pushed him away gasping for air. "Daryl," He moved down and kissed your neck lightly.

"Never leave me again."
