You ran into the empty house, revolver in hand, with Carl right behind you. You both searched the abandoned house for any food. There wasn't much, but it would be enough, at least for a couple of days.
You weren't hungry. Well, that's what you told Carol and Maggie - who kept fussing over you, truth is, you were starving. There wasn't enough food for everyone, you gave your share to Lori. She was eating for two, now.
"(Y/N), you haven't eaten a thing for three days now. You have to eat somethin'," Maggie said pushing her plate towards you.
You shook your head at her. "I'm not hungry."
"You can't live without food, (Y/N), eat something!" She yelled forcing her plate into your lap. "We can't have you dying because of some stupid decision to starve yourself!"
"I ain't starving myself." You mumbled putting the plate on the ground next to you.
She huffed and turned away from you. Glenn rubbed her shoulder as he glanced at you with worry written in his eyes.
"Eat." Daryl shoved his fork, that had a piece of a cooked squirrel on it, in your face.
"Stop pestering me." You pushed his hand away and glared at the ground.
"(Y/N)." He pulled your arm so you were facing him. He put the meat to your lips and gently pried your mouth open, forcing you to eat.
You gagged immediately, as you stood up and ran over to one of the trees. You puked loudly, holding your hair back from your face. When you looked down at the mess you'd made, you winced at the sight of blood.
It was just blood. There wasn't any other substance, but blood. You rebelled and more liquid forced it's way up to your esophagus. There was a burning sensation in your stomach as you rested your forehead against the tree.
Your throat burned like acid when you coughed.
You rubbed your mouth with your sleeve and walked back to the group. They gave you a strange look as you panted and rested your head on Daryl's broad shoulder.
"What happened?" He asked stroking your burning cheek.
"Water, please..." You said clutching onto his vest.
Rick handed Daryl a water bottle. He helped you drink the cold liquid, and it felt like heaven, sliding down your throat.
"(Y/N), what happened?"
"I threw up blood,"
"It's because you're not eating (Y/N)!" Maggie exclaimed, forcing her plate into your lap, once again.
"I just thought that other people might need the food more than me..." You whispered, looking at your hands, feeling guilty.
"(Y/N), you aren't any less important than the rest of us," She said hugging you.
As she pulled away, she smiled at you. "Now eat!"
--
Even though you started eating properly again, you still threw up in the morning. There wasn't blood anymore, but it was still worrisome.
Rick had found a prison to stay in. You were inside the fence right now, fighting off walkers. As you kicked one of the walkers off you, there was a sudden jolt in your stomach. You thought of it as nothing but it happened again and you were scared now. Your stomach churned as you moved.
Fuck, not now.
The pain became unbearable as you fell to your knees, clutching onto you slightly swollen stomach. A walker grabbed onto your hair as you called out for Daryl, Maggie, Glenn, anybody at this point. You felt the teeth graze your neck before the walker was pulled backward. "Oh my god, (Y/N)! Are you alright?!"
Glenn and Maggie pulled you up and took you inside to one of the cell blocks. The pain subsided as they laid you on the squeaky bed.
"What happened out there?" Glenn asked.
"Stomach ache. I'm okay now."
"Jesus, (Y/N), that was not just a stomach ache. You seemed to be in a lot of pain. Are you sure you're okay?" Maggie asked with concern.
"Mhmm. Just fine."
Your vision got blurry, as the sleepiness got to you.
--
"Where's Carol? T-Dog?" You asked with tears in your eyes. "Lori?" Everyone had a sullen look on their faces. Rick had already walked away with an ax in his hand.
Beth was holding a baby, so you assumed it was Lori's. You stared at the child in sorrow.
Suddenly, the realization hit you. You looked down at the small bump, that was your stomach. You bit your lip and placed your hands on your stomach.
"(Y/N), what are you doing?" Maggie asked with a small voice.
"Um Maggie, can I speak to you, alone?" You asked looking at the people gathered in the cell.
Everyone left as Maggie put a sheet on the cell door for privacy. "What's wrong?"
"I think I might be pregnant," You said closing your eyes tightly.
"What, since when?!"
"I don't know for sure, but at the farm, we did it in Daryl's tent," You looked down blushing.
"Glenn and I are going on a run soon, I can grab you a test then," She grabbed your hand and held it. "It's gonna be okay."
--
Pregnant.
You clenched the positive pregnancy test to your chest as you slid down onto the cold, tiled, flooring. Your heart felt tight inside your chest.
You hid the object under your pillow as you turned your head to the wall.
"(Y/N)?" Daryl's voice sounded hoarse as he spoke. You felt a hand on your shoulder, so you closed your eyes and pretended to be sleeping.
He moved you closer to the wall and slid into the bed behind you. His arms went around your torso, grabbing your hand that was lying there.
"Daryl, I love you," You spoke in a small whisper, afraid of rejection.
"You were awake? Sorry, I'll go," He started to get up, but you grabbed his hand.
"You're just going to ignore what I said?" Tears prickled at the corners of your eyes.
"I -" He started.
"It's fine, just go," You turned back to the wall.
And with that, he left.
