When you saw that Bob, Maggie, and Sasha, had left a note to go to Terminus, there was a pang in your chest, both from happiness, and sadness.
Maggie was okay, but Daryl wasn't with her. Where was he?
Glenn went running off and everyone followed. You just stood there and looked at the ground. You knew that you should be happy that Maggie was alright, but you couldn't help feeling hurt that you still didn't know if Daryl was okay.
After last night, your belief that Daryl was still alive, was getting slimmer. You didn't know what to believe anymore. Glenn had reassured you that he was okay, but it didn't help as much as you wanted it too. You were glad that he knew Maggie was alive though.
Nobody noticed as you stayed behind them staring at your feet.
--
They were probably miles away, now. Either they didn't notice, or they didn't care. You sat down next to the map to Terminus.
Would the place really be safe? You didn't believe it, not one bit.
Atlanta wasn't safe. The Quarry wasn't safe. The CDC wasn't safe. The farm wasn't safe. The prison wasn't safe. Nowhere was safe now.
Suddenly, there was a severe pain emitting from your stomach. You ignored it and tried to get up. That only resulted in you falling to the ground again. You cried out as another wave of pain hit you.
Fuck.
Out of all the times to be in labor, it had to be now when you were in the middle of nowhere, alone. You but your lip as you held in a scream.
You should have followed them. They could've helped you. Terminus was too far for you to walk.
After a few minutes, you had a sudden urge to push. You closed your eyes, willing the baby to wait. Clearly, it didn't want too, as it kicked you in the gut, hard.
You had tears streaming down your face as you tried to get up. There was no use in calling for help, there were only walkers out here.
--
"Wait. Guys?!" Everyone turned towards Tara.
"What? We've gotta hurry!" Glenn said from ahead of her.
"Where's (Y/N)?!"
"Well, fuck, I thought she was behind you," Abraham said looking around.
"Guys we've gotta go back!" Tara said turning around.
"No, she'll find us. We need to get to Terminus."
"Fuck Terminus! She helped you out of the prison and you're just going to leave her? What about Daryl? What do you think her husband will say if he's there and you show up without her? I don't care what you say. I made a promise to her, too," She said walking away.
--
You walked and walked, exhausted. There was blood and sweat all over your face. Your hair was brittle because of the dried up blood in it.
You didn't have anything but a knife in its holster. Glenn had the food, guns, and baby formula in his backpack.
They were gone and they weren't coming back. You had to keep walking. If you fell asleep, you might wake up with a half-eaten baby in your hands.
There was a rustle behind you. You quickly held up your knife, knotting your brows together.
"(Y/N)? Is that you?" You looked closer and saw Carol, Judith, and Tyreese.
"Fuck." You looked down crying silently.
Carol pulled you into a small embrace. You hugged Tyreese and kissed Judith on the head, before grabbing a handkerchief from your pocket and wiping the blood off your face.
"What happened to you?" Carol asked.
"I was with Glenn, and one of the girls with the Governor, Tara. We went looking for anyone from our group. Mostly Daryl and Maggie though." You laughed wiping away a tear. "We found this small group of people. Abraham, Eugene, and Rosita. They're taking Eugene to DC. He knows what caused the outbreak. He has the cure. We saw a sign that was telling Glenn to go to Terminus. Maggie was going there. Sasha and Bob are with her." Tyreese looked relieved when you mentioned Sasha. "I stopped because..." You sighed looking at the ground. "I thought of Daryl. I knew in my heart he wasn't dead. But my mind kept telling me he was gone."
"When I looked up, everyone was gone. And this little guy decided he wanted to come out right that second." You looked down at the small child on your arms. "After it was over I killed a herd of walkers with my knife. I left my gun in Glenn's backpack. I kept walking, and that's when I found you guys," You said smiling at them.
"That's a lot to process... Wait, did you say that this Eugene guy has the cure to all this?" Tyreese asked.
"Hopefully. I honestly think it's a scam. I can't really believe in anything anymore. Every place we've been to has either been a lie or a lost cause. I don't really trust Terminus, but Daryl might be there, so I'm going."
"Okay, let's keep walking then," Carol said handing you a revolver to use.
"Yeah let's go," You smiled grabbing the gun.
--
Of course, Terminus was a lie. Carol was going to cause a distraction in the place while you went back for Tyreese.
You may or may not have gotten lost...
You held your baby close with your gun in your empty hand. You carefully walked, looking for the small cabin Tyreese and Judith were in.
Life fucking sucks. Dead conquered the earth, and living people decided it was suddenly okay to kill other, innocent, living people.
There was a loud explosion and you quickly turned around.
Maybe you couldn't find Tyreese, but now you could find Carol.
--
You walked up to the group and saw Daryl hugging Carol tightly. You almost dropped the baby in surprise.
"Guys?" Everyone looked at you now. Daryl froze and stood still. Glenn and Tara came up and hugged you.
"Thank god you're okay," Tara said.
"I'm sorry I should have checked if you were okay," Glenn said still hugging you.
"Well you should be, I had no one to help me when I went to labor after you left." You slapped his arm playfully as you laughed.
You looked behind Glenn and saw Daryl running up to you. He lifted you up gently, careful not to hurt the sleeping baby in your arms.
It seemed that your reunions always ended up with you in the air.
"Daryl? Here's our baby..." You moved the baby into his arms.
"He gotta name?" He asked rocking the small baby boy in his arms.
"No, I waited to find you. Figured you'd want to be a part of the naming process." You smiled.
"I dunno." He looked closely at the child in his arms.
"There someone you wanna name him after?" You asked.
He shook his head and looked at you.
"How about your brother?" You asked tilting your head.
"Nah, Merle don't deserve a baby to be named after him," He chuckled.
"How about Alec? That was my brother's name. I hated him most of the time, but in the end, he's still my brother. Plus, I like the name."
"Yeah, I like that." He said kissing your head.
