"Daryl's gonna kill us," You told everyone.
"We know," Glenn looked like he wanted to say more but he didn't.
"What's wrong?" You looked at him for a second before turning back to the empty road.
"When we were on the roof, you tried to-" He started. "I know. Sorry, it won't happen again."
He looked at you ridiculed. "'Won't happen again'? (Y/N), you tried to kill yourself!" You winced at the harshness in his voice. Glenn never yelled at you. Ever.
"What if I show you something that might make you feel better," You stopped the car pulling out the bag of guns from under your feet.
"(Y/N), that isn't goin-" Rick interrupted him, "How did you get those?"
"Heard you talkin' about a bag of guns, near the tank. I grabbed them for you," You threw the guns to Rick and started the vehicle again, ignoring Glenn's quiet protests.
"(Y/N), we have to talk about this!"
"I don't wanna talk about it Glenn," You felt your eyes blur.
"You have to talk to someone (Y/N)," His voice softened.
"I talk to Daryl. He listens to me," You couldn't drive anymore, you might crash the truck.
"I don't think Daryl's the best person to talk too. He-"
"Are you kidding me? Glenn, I don't want your pity on this. I'm completely fine, I realized what I was doing and I won't do it again. But don't tell me Daryl isn't someone I should talk to. He's a really good person. You just have to get to know him," You said. Tears burned at the back of your eyes.
"(Y/N), that isn't what I meant,"
"Whatever, you can drive now. I'm exhausted,"
--
When you woke up Daryl was already back. Everyone probably already told him about Merle, because he was on the ground and pulling out a knife. You couldn't hear what they were saying but you saw Shane tackle him to the ground. Sighing you grabbed a clean shirt and changed in your tent.
"(Y/N)!" Daryl's voice called outside of the tent.
You unzipped the flap and stepped out.
"We're going back for Merle. You comin'?"
"Yeah, let me just grab my gun,"
--
You were sat next to Daryl in the box truck.
"We're going to get him, alright?" You touched his arm lightly. He hummed in response. You leaned your head on his shoulder closing your eyes. Memories from yesterday flooded your mind.
You tried jumping off a roof. You didn't even think about Daryl during that time. What would he think if the rest of the group showed up at camp without you? Losing both you and Merle would definitely hurt him.
You looked up at him and he was already staring at you. When his eyes met yours he quickly looked away. You didn't say anything as you pecked his cheek making him tense under the touch.
"Sorry," You mumbled, pulling away and looking guilty. You lost control of yourself, it just felt like the right thing to do. To comfort him.
"S'okay. You can do it again," You saw him with a light blush on his face.
You laughed. It was the first time you've laughed in years. The unfamiliar feeling of happiness rushed into your heart. There were tears in your eyes as you looked down flushed.
