You sat down on the ground and looked up at the dark sky. The walkers could easily get you, but you didn't care. You held your knife to your wrist. The tip of the blade poked your skin, before you sobbed and threw the knife down in front of you.
You couldn't do it. It reminded you of the time you tried to jump off a roof in Atlanta. Glenn pulled you back. You promised him you wouldn't try to kill yourself again. You promised.
It's been years since you left the group. At least, you think it has. You haven't been keeping track of the days.
You wanted to go back to Daryl. But, he wouldn't want you. You left him and your child alone. You felt like your dad, when he left your family.
A twig snapped from behind you. Grabbing your knife, you jumped up.
"Who's there?" You whispered wiping you tear stained face.
There was a groan, then a walker came stumbling out of the bushes. You let out a sigh of relief before killing the walker.
There was another groan behind you. You spun around and grabbed the machete you found in an abandoned house.
When you looked up there was about thirty walkers in front of you. You cursed and backed away.
You killed two of them in front of you. One with your knife, and one with your machete. You swiftly pulled the weapons from their skulls and killed the next few.
You kept up the process until all of them were dead and you were dripping with blood.
You ran ahead looking for some kind of shelter. There wasn't anywhere to go.
No food. No water. No shelter.
You've had enough of this.
It was time to head back to Alexandria.
--
"Who's there?!" You raised your arms and dropped the weapons down on the ground. You didn't say anything. Then, Rick was there opening the gate.
"Shit. (Y/N), is that you?" He asked putting a hand to his mouth.
You didn't know how he recognized you. Your hair had grown longer, and there was too much blood to see your face.
"Hey Officer Friendly," You smirked picking up the weapons off the floor.
You felt him pull you into a hug as you put the blades back into their holsters.
"Daryl's probably around here somewhere. Alec is probably with him, too."
"Okay. Thank you," You said walking through the gates and looking around.
--
You gasped when you saw Daryl walking down the streets with a small boy following close behind him. Your legs trembled and you fell to the ground when you saw the child look in your direction.
"Daddy! Look!" He grabbed Daryl by the sleeve and pointed at you.
Daryl looked your way and froze when he saw you. You didn't bother getting up, so if Daryl didn't want to talk to you, then he could easily walk away.
But he didn't, instead he picked up Alec and ran to you.
He sat on the ground in front of you smiling.
When your son looked at you closely, his eyes widened. "Mama?"
You smiled and hugged him tightly.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry..." You repeated the same line over and over again as Daryl pulled you over into his lap.
"Don't even think about leaving us again," He said kissing you.
"I wont."
You may have been broken, but this man fixed you, he probably would again, and again. And you were just fine with that...
